Cross Keys is a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends. Nice chilled out atmosphere, great staff and good food.

Went on a sunday evening with 2 girlfriends and it was great. Exactly what we wanted-busy but quiet enough to talk and catch up! Food was great and service was good too, prices were very reasonable too, definitely will go back.

Cross Keys is one of the best gems in this city full of restaurants. The food is fantastic and the prices extremely reasonable. The building is gorgeous and the interior is cozy yet classy. The staff aren't the most efficient, but even that adds to the relaxed class of this outstanding gastropub.

Dinner at The Cross Keys was a lovely, informal laid back experience. Starter was excellent and just right size, although a bit more Mango Chutney to accompany the Foie Gras Terrine would havee been nice. The main course of Poussin with Mustard Sauce was perfectly cooked, crispy skin and soft flesh and superbly presented. Dessert of White Chocolate and Raspberry Creme Brulee was as good if as any dessert at much more high profile restaurants. The Cross Keys for a good meal, good serviceRECOMMEND

We went to the Cross Keys last night which has a very friendly atmosphere with good plain food - very generous helpings. Wine list included several options at a reasonable price. The service is also quick and friendly.

cross keys provides an excellent venue for a sunday lunch - great foos, simple menu which doesn't change much but always is perfectly cooked. Service has been shoddy in the past but this time was good.

I went to the Cross Keys for Sunday lunch and it was great food and gerat service, but there was no-one else dining and we were there from 12-1.30 - v.strange! don't know if they were just having an off day. Would try again though as food was great.

We enjoyed both the food and the service at the Cross Keys, both were excellent, unfortunately though with a few big groups in the restaurant, it was very noisy and too loud to speak so we left quite quickly.

The Crosskeys was full of character and slightly quirky. A very informal dining exdperience. A slightly limited choice on the menu that can be a good thing as the main courses were excellent without being pretentious.

I really enjoyed the Cross Keys for a late lunch on Saturday with friends. We sat in the bar area as it was more lively. Great food and pretty decent wine list. Will return.

Lovely pub. Staff were friendly. I had soup, carrot and ginger, which was lovely. My friend had prawn tempura. All batter and not much prawn was the verdict. Main : I had the chicken with colcannon and mushroom sauce. Nicely cooked chicken - the mushroom sauce was divine. My friend had Roast Beef with trimmings. Roast potatoes cold inside, meat very fatty and a strange mix of rare and well done at the same time. Long wait for the bill. I would visit again but my friend would not.

Nice place with a decent gastro pub atmosphere, but the 'over garliced' food dissapointed!

We had a pleasant time at Cross Keys. The food was fresh but the service was mediocre as we were rushed through our meal and pressed to order our food. That aside, the ambience was very warm and friendly.

Had dinner in the Cross Keys. Although the food was decent enough (both had Steak) the restaurant was failrly noisy and crowded, and my seat was broken. Not really good enough in bearing in mind the competition.

The Cross Keys has a stunning interior! Open fires, high ceilings, very light. We were there for lunch on a Sunday and were a bit surprised (and disappointed) that it was a price fixed 2 or 3 course lunch and there was no a la carte--so we ended up eating more (and spending more) than we intended. That said, food was good and the waitress could not have been nicer. Would certainly recommend it.

the food at the cross keys is a little clumsy and needs a little more care. The noise levels within the restaurant make conversation difficult

A very quirky bar area but the back restaurant has a lovely ambience and great for a relaxing Sunday lunch. Although the service was a little slow it was a relaxing meal, good food and great value for money - 3 courses for £19.50. Will definitely go back
