Description of Franco's
Franco's restaurant has been a London institution since the last war, and now that this Mayfair stalwart has enjoyed a full refurbishment it has absolutely embraced the 21st century. Bright green awnings welcome you to the classic Edwardian building. Inside, the elegant 1940's-inspired décor is bright and modern, with light woods, off-white walls and comfy upholstered dining chairs. Fresh authentic ingredients are flown in from Italy and the Mediterranean for the authentic Italian menu. The homemade bread wins rave reviews. You may like to try starter of octopus salad with fennel and orange, main course of slow-roasted pork belly with Jerusalem artichokes and mandarin-flavoured sauce or simple meat or fish from the grill, and dessert of white chocolate and coffee bean mousse with Galliano sauce. The service is young and swift, and the wine list a winner, too.

Staff at Franco's were very helpfull & attentive. The food was good, but a starter & main course was not available. The wine is a bit expensive for what it was - nice wine, but not worh the price. Overall Franco's was not quite as good as iI expected.

Reliably good Italian food in a very convenient location. On my last visit staff were helpful but harried, trying to cover too many tables. Safe bet for good dining in St. James'.

Franco's had a very nice ambience to it with excellent value for money.

Its quite expensive but definitely value for money, the food was amazing. The service was good, our waiter was very attentive although he kept pouring our drinks over the table cloth, a little more care would have been nice.

It was slightly more expensive than the approximate guide on toptable, but it was fantastic food, and the waiting staff knew all about the menu and were able to give good recommendations.

Franco's is a great, traditional restuarant. It is perfect for a business lunch. The menu is especially good as it offers smaller lunch dishes as well as the larger a la carte dishes.

Delicious meal at Franco's but I was with an elderly friend and it's a very noisy room so he had difficulty hearing me or the waiters. The staff kindly moved us away from a very noisy group but the general volume level is still pretty high.

Ate at Franco's for my partner's birthday and took along both sets of parents. The parents were underwhelmed by the food which was distinctly average. I was underwhelmed by the service, due to being guilt-tripped into accepting a medium-rare steak by the meat-snob waiter. I subsequently didn't enjoy the steak as I might have, and the thought that I had to pay for a steak that wasn't cooked as I would have liked rankled. I should have been allowed well-done steak!
