Description of Frankie's - Putney
Frankie's Italian Bar and Grill restaurant in Putney is the most recent addition to the Frankie's chain of 'affordable glamour' family restaurants that are not just for families. Think giant sexy mirrorballs, mirrored walls and brown-paper tablecloths over folds of red leather, and you'll get the picture. It's not easy to be trendy yet informal, relaxed yet glamorous, but Frankie's pulls it off with style. While the kiddies tuck into their own menu, begin with Parma ham with figs, then try the rib-eye steak alla Romana or the sea bass with citrus fruits and olive oil. On the pasta menu, pumpkin ravioli and spaghetti with lobster sit happily alongside more familiar favourites. Round off with a classic chocolate mousse or pannacotta with champagne-poached strawberries, and you'll see why Frankie's is a hit with anyone who enjoys good food in glamorous surroundings - even after they've had kids.

Our second time at Frankies. It was even better than before. My Mother had halibut wich she said was delicious and my wife tried the lobster pasta which was excellent (as the pasta was before) Service was very good. And its fairly reasonable too which is a bonus.

Nice simple Italian food, good pizza, good value, ok for an average night out

We were greeted like old friends at Frankie's by Diego the restaurant manager. The food, as always, was great - particularly the pizzas and burgers. The portion size is extreme. My friend's pasta dish could have fed 4 people.

Glam on the cheap. A slice of New York in Putney. Recommended.

I recieved a warn friendly welcome as I arrived. I was with a friend who I hadn't seen for a while so plenty of news to catch up on. We were not rushed at any stage of our evening. The food was excellent and well priced. The tables were well spaced out. The service was warm and friendly. I certainly would recommend Frankie's Express in Putney Bridge Road and will be returning.
