Description of Gaucho - Canary Wharf
Given that this restaurant is a Gaucho Restaurant, it really ought to overlook the Rio del la Plata but the Thames provides an excellent stand in. Certainly, this Canary Wharf restaurant offers some of the best river views to be had in London. The interior is also light, spacious and contemporary. Naturally red meat is the speciality here but as well as steak this South American restaurant provides a selection of fish, chicken and vegetarian options cooked to with authentic herbs and flavourings to traditional recipes.

Took my brother out for a christmas dinner here at Gaucho. The service was great with the waiter explaining everything to us in terms of the different cuts of meat and types of cheeses etc. Its not cheap (£155 for 2 people) but worth it for a special occasion.

Gauchos - does what it says on the tin, good steaks and excellent selection of Argentinean wines. Pretty expensive for steak and chips but worth a visit for a special occasion.

As ever the food is superb but the service is questionable. They insisted on upselling us bottled water even when I pointed out that I had just asked for plain water. In addition the toilets are still stygian - far more suited to a nightclub than a restaurant.

Gauchos Canary Wharf - restaurant was good, but found that with the current economic climate the prices were a little high and felt the food was not up to the standard of the price charged. Would recommend it to others if not for the price.

Gaucho is always good value for money, with excellent food and service.

Had dinner there last night with3 friends. I've dined here before and the servic, food and ambience were as good and as consistent as it always is. For athree course meal including a reasonable amount of wine and service charge, expect to pay around £60 per head.

Excellent food as normal but SERIOUSLY disappointed with service - waiter asked me (in front of my client) how much I wanted to spend on wine. As if that wasn't bad enough he then suggested a bottle £20 over the amount I named. Felt seriously embarassed in front of client for having expenses limits. Not at all impressed, will not return to this branch. London Bridge is much better, they don't try to upsell so obviously!

Gaucho is a great place to eat - the food was fantastic..the view superb, the ambience- spot on! The staff - great!! and fully knowlegable on their cusine and gave great advice on which steak to have,as I was spolit for choice.Only downfall was the issue they had with the toilet- only one was available so the queue was quite long. But I definetly will be going back there very soon

The Gaucho is a favourite and an excellent place to go for a superb steak and all round dining experience. Was a little bit disappointed this time - the waitress was a bit too garulous and wan't impressed with her initial wine recommendation. The main dishes on the menu are all excellent but I do get annoyed about the size and cost of the side dishes and the starters - the bill can very easily rack without you realising it and this impacts value for money. Stick to the steak and wine!

We were vey pleased with Gaucho, Canary Wharf. We changed our booking from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm very easily. The explanation of the different cuts of meat and the whole service was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. This was our second visit and we shall return. B. Wilson
