Description of Gaucho - Chancery Lane
When beef is the thing you crave, there are few better places to eat than at Gaucho Restaurant. The steaks, in any size you desire from 225 g to 2.5 kg, are flown in from Argentina, aged for six weeks, hand-cut in the kitchen then rubbed with chimichurra oil, flash-grilled on volcanic coals, and delivered, sizzling, to your table. The phrase we most think of when we think of Gaucho Grill steaks is melt-in-the-mouth. There's a choice of five sauces, as well as an array of fish and chicken dishes for those who aren't craving steak that particular day. The decor is City-smart, a combination of marble and stainless steel softened with cowhide upholstery. The wine list is something else, with a wide array of established South American wines and Gaucho's own-lable range. This Gaucho Restaurant is a popular gathering place for City suits as well as tourists and family groups and we don't blame them one little bit.

Food was good, service was good, but the chairs were quite uncomfortable and the tables very low. Generally enjoyable and would recommend.

Great steak at Gaucho, I thought that 300g (about 10oz) might be a bit on the small side but it was more than sufficient. You can ask to see the raw cuts at your table if you're not sure. Portions of side orders on the other hand are quite small so you need to order a few. We had an excellent couple of bottles of pinot noir although the staff like to overfill your glass somewhat. Otherwise good service and good atmosphere.

Gaucho- just as good as ever, perfect steak, tasty side dishes, good wine even though a tad pricey. Will be back soon!

really great quality steak, as you might expect, attentive & charming service, but not exactly value for money. One starter, two mains, couple of sides, one glass house red plus soft drinks = £100 incl service....................

At Gauchos (Chancery Lane) we had excellent service from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left. I was really pleased with our booking, as I specfically asked when I booked (online on Toptable), for a romantic table for my husbands b-day and that is actually what we got. It was a truly lovely night. Thanks I would really recommend it! It gets busy later though so I would book early on Toptable :-)

The Gaucho Grill (Chancery Lane) last night served a good rib-eye steak, but it was noticeably a step down from the one I had at the same venue a month earlier, which was awesome. Hence I was a left with a slight feeling of disappointment, event though it was still a pretty good steak.

As usual the food was excellent (this is my 8th visit) and I even like the new decor. Just one complaint - bring back the fat chips with skins. French fries, albeit the best I have tasted, are a poor substitute!!

Food was not as good as I have come to expect. My steak arrived cold. And we were kept waiting for our table for sometime.

On friday evening 8pm we dined at The Gaucho on Chancery Lane was OK...(just) We would`nt go back there in a hurry though, we prefer the Sloan Gaucho or Piccadilly restaurants, much better atmosphere and way more effecient staff who are attentive and know what they`re talking about. Of the 5 London Gauchos we`ve been to, these two are the best.
We usually spend £100 for two pax which is a starter to share, a steak each, 3 sides to share, a cocktail and a glass of wine. service included.
