Description of Gilgamesh
A round of applause, please, for fabulous Camden dynamo, Gilgamesh. Celebrity chef Ian Pengelley brings his acclaimed Pan-Asian cuisine to this big, bold Babylonian-style space in the new Camden Town Stables Market development. Pengelley can be gazed at in action in the open kitchen of the main restaurant, itself very open in feel thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and a 40ft high ceiling with retractable roof. Accompanying his menu are 30 different sakes, and a sake sommelier to advise you which best suits each dish. And there's more - a luxurious lounge, a bar and an ornate traditional tea room. Gilgamesh, incidentally, was a Babylonian king whose story is considered the oldest story ever recorded.

Gilgamesh is an extemely nice restaurant and is really different in decor! Would highly recommend going for the 50% off food offer as it is such good value for money and gorgeous food!

As always Gilgamesh's decor is stunning and the food is good but pricey. We found the starters (sushi rolls, beef salad and tempura) and dessert (chocolate creme brulee) much than the main (miniscule portion of beef which was lovely but a bit dry with the steamed rice) and the vegetarian option was not very vegetarian (unless you are happy eating fish but also beef - in the salad!). Waiters have a bit of attitude.
Still, it's got great atmosphere and is great setting!

Food was good but not the best in Camden - if you like your oriental food, you'll find better readily elsewhere. Service was very good except for the restaurant manager who was aloof, unattentive, and borderline rude. Set menu was ok value with the 50% off but no way near worth £40 without the offer. Place has got a wow factor to it, the best bit about the restaurant - funky and unusual. Overall, enjoyable - may go for again for drinks, but not to eat unless I was aiming to impress

Gilgamesh had amazing decor and an extensive drinks menu - the cocktails were especially good - I would recommend the Anu and Kutu.

Great food if you're not a vegetarian, if you are - it's quite a small list to chose from, but still the quality is still there.

A great night out, around £60.00 with 3 courses, a cocktail, 1/3 bottle of wine, and tea/cofee at the end.

Lovely restaurant and the food and service was fantastic. Although without out the deal it would have been very pricey.
