This family-run residential restaurant has been around for well over a decade, serving up traditional Indian staples to the residents and business people of Pimlico. With so many regulars popping back for more comfort and good food, the Great Eastern Tandoori almost always has a buzz. There's plenty going on the walls, too. Hand-painted artwork creates colourful focal points that show off the neat white napiery. Top dishes include lamb shank, Jaipur jalfrezi, korai chicken, and a fantastic lamb taba larih - a medium-spicy North Indian hit. Very nice ice creams, especially the honey pot. Polite all-Indian waiting staff.

If you like the idea of holding a private or corporate event/party at the Great Eastern Tandoori, then as long as your guest list is no longer than 40, you're most welcome. Up to 20 can sit together around a single table. The best spaces are the alcoves at the back. One has striped rainbow coloured walls and a round table for up to ten. The other - fitting four+ people - is more romantic in its starry blueness. Group menu choices are simply a la carte or set. The decorative bar featuring hand=painted scenes of Indian Gods makes a nice spot for pre and post dinner drinks. Entire international wine list is under £20, and house wine just £7.80 a bottle. Children welcome. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
