Description of Haandi
Haandi is named after the narrow-necked cooking pots that lock in the memorable flavours of this Northern Frontier Indian cuisine. Some dishes are served in mini haandis, but the main thing is not how the food comes but how good it is, and here Haandi excels. Newly refurbished in elegant neutral golds and creams you can enter from Brompton Rd where the private dining area is or at the rear, Cheval place where you'll find the bar - The glass fronted kitchen adds drama, allowing you to watch the chefs create their own brand of magic. The masalas are freshly-prepared daily, all the dishes are cooked to order and absolutely everything you eat is created on the premises. Familiar favourites made unfamiliar by their excellence, try heera panna, sauteed calamari and monkfish, giant prawns grilled in the Tandoor - The freshest meat, fish and vegetables and spectacularly light breads. Haandi produces truly authentic Indian food aimed at a clientele that knows its raitas from its rotis. This is Indian Food for Grown-ups!

I have booked this restaurant for business dinners on many occasions and it is a good place to go. The food is excellent and it has a good ambience. I would thoroughly recommend it.

When it comes to service and hospitality it is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I am not exaggerating. Out of the 3 waiter thats were around our heads, 2 of them were shouting at at us from time to time. On asking the vintage of the wine, they wondered why somebody would like to do that. If it wasnt for the cold weather outside, n lack of knowledge of any other good indian restaraunt outside, we would have left the place!!!! Food was tasty, but service hopeless!!!

Haandi is located very conveniently right opposite Harrods and the food is really good. The spices feel fresh and overall the food is really nice. Barbecue Prawns and Dhaba Chicken are great. Also the Masala Aloo chaat is a great starter- possibly to e shared with everybody on the dinner table. Good Value for money. Would recommend strongly

The food was amazing and came quickly and in good-sized portions. The staff were polite and friendly however the waiter appeared to have a imited understanding of the menu and we had to enter our pin no a few times before the machine worked correctly when paying. However, we will def go back again for the outstanding food and the great location (virtually opposite Harrods, what more can you ask for)!

Haandi is a good mid-range priced indian restaurant with an interesting menu.

I had not visited Haandi for at least 2 years, so had forgotten how good the food is! An excellent menu and great cooking. Service was adequate but not particularly gracious or friendly, which lost Haandi one point on the overall rating. Still, well worth another visit.
