Description of Hispaniola
Moored at Victoria Embankment, the Hispaniola has been a landmark on the London scene for more than thirty years, and it's still a great place to gather and dine. The view is, of course, fantastic, particularly for romantic dinners. But the food is also very good indeed, with a Mediterranean menu featuring delicious dishes like Roast whole seabass with a warm basil and tomato vinaigrette or Oven cooked beef fillet with melted Stilton and red wine jelly. We recommend the Carpaccio of smoked venison with Parmesan and parsley herb salad to start, and absolutely everything on the pudding menu to finish. Wine list is strong on Spanish bottles...por supuesto, and you can also enjoy one or two from the extensive brandy and liquer menu! Lounge in the cigar bar as life drifts by. Live piano music Thursday till Saturday.

Christmas Packages:
are priced at £42.50 per person and include decorations, a welcome drink & a three-course meal with treats like salmon terrine with asparagus & Hollandaise sauce, traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings & Christmas pudding.

Hispaniola Reviews

The Hispaniola offers a lovely ambience. Fantastic view of the eye. The restuarant is pleasant and the waiters attentive. The door staff need the same training as the waiters. He was unfriendly and hardly interested. But we had a good time and would definately return.

I booked the Hispaniola for my mum's birthday as she always wants to eat on the river. The location, service and ambience were great - nice piano player in the background and waitress v attentive with good sense of humour! The food was pretty average though. Starters and desserts were good, side orders of veg & chunky chips excellent but meat was overcooked and not particularly tasty. Wine was good value. Had a lovely evening but I wouldn't hurry back for the food.

The Hispaniola has a wonderful location and we enjoyed having a drink on deck on a lovely summer's evening. The food was particularly good although the service was a little slow considering the restaurant wasn't full. However, they made us very welcome, the food was well-presented (although they got one person's starter wrong) and everyone enjoyed themselves. The cheese plate was enormous! We would definitely recommend it again.

We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Hispaniola, mainly due to the friendly and humorous staff.

The food was good, possibly a little overpriced but well worth going on a special offer.

Hispaniola is a great option if you love being on boats, as you can feel the movement of the boat. Not so good if anyone in your group doesn't like that feeling! Food very good. Slightly quaint interior styling. Ambience is really all about the view (would be even better in summertime as there is a lovely open terrace upstairs) - its just south/west of hungerford bridge so great views across to the eye if you get a table by the windows on that side.

A sunny day had left the Hispaniola's main dining room extremely warm and airless, even after the air outdoors had cooled substantially. And the menu's descriptions persuaded us to order sides, which were unnecessary because of the generous main course portions and their included-but-unmentioned accompaniments. The food was of a good standard, though, and very enjoyable.

Good. Not a regular visitor to London and picked this from TT recommendations from other people and can confirm generally what others have found. Lovely surroundings, staff polite and attentive, food well above average and price quite good for London. Well done and keep the good work up
