Description of Indian Zing Restaurant
Indian Zing restaurant in Hammersmith has won rave reviews its modern, light yet robustly-flavoured Indian food. Indeed, it's one of Fay Maschler's Top Five Indian restaurants. Formerly Deputy head chef at Chutney Mary and Head Chef at Veeraswamy, chef-proprietor Manoj Vasiakar has got the traditional/contemporary mix right on the money. Deciding what to have is agony - so make your mates promise to share, then start with Prawn and Aubergine Kharkhatla and move on to the delicately-spiced Fish Shirale (cooked in coconut milk and finished with onion and tomato masala) or the crackingly good Duck Chettinad. Sides have a similar 'wow' factor, with dishes like bottlegourd and pumpkin cooked with lentils and mustard seeds, while brilliant fusion desserts include masala bread and butter pudding. With spot-on service, elegantly relaxed surroundings and very reasonable prices, this Indian will make your heart Zing.

Additional information for Indian Zing Restaurant

Indian Zing was buzzing on a wednesday night. We were greeted by friendly waiters and offered an amuse-bouche. The menu is very interesting and the food excellent. We were 7 - so a bit squahed together but everyone said they would return with their partner on a quiter night. Nice naughty pics in the toilet!

Indian Zing: A surprise in Hammersmith and not a fluke. My second time there and loved the food. Very authentic and tasty preparations.

Indian Zing is so unassuming you could pass it without a second thought - don't. You'd miss calm, assured service, a comfortable, unfussy white-clothed room, an interesting wine list (if you must drink beer do, if not try the Indian Shiraz - a revelation) and above all, clean-tasting, tasty, zingy even, Indian food of fine quality, presented thoughtfully and with style. A lunchtime 'express' menu offers guaranteed speed, two courses at £12, three at £15, and is great value. What's not to like???

First thing to state is that the food was excellent. The mixed starter platter was absolutely delicious and a must. The menu choice had plenty of variety and was authentic - not your run of the mill choices. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a fantastic meal out!

Indian Zing was a real pleasure - the food was superb and the service was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very helpful and made good suggestions, and were very polite and friendly. The girls even got a little New Year's gift!

The ambience was cosy with everywhere being very clean including the toilets. Would recommend highly, and looking forward to dining there again!

Indian Zing
Great food, but such a shame the tables are so cramped making serving of food difficult for those seated. One is aware when service is being given behind you. They need to take some chairs away or make more use of the back of the restaurant.

All had a great night at Indian Zing. We had a large group of 25 and the restaurant staff managed the night perfectly. Great food.
