Description of Kenza
From the people who brought you the endlessly-popular Levant, Levantine and Pasha comes their latest City addition, Kenza. Dripping with rich fabrics, cushions, carved tables and exotic charm, Kenza fuses the styles of the Middle East and Maghreb, complete with the seductive air of incense and rose petals. The menu from Lebanese-born head chef Jad Youssef is an exercise in contrasts; subtle scents, complex spicing and traditional ingredients used in innovative ways. In the true Middle Eastern way, menus are designed for sharing. Although Kenza is perfect for relaxing by day, at night the restaurant turns into North African carnival, complete with resident DJ's and glamorous belly dancers performing every evening.

Amazing venue, great food, good service! We all enjoyed a lovely lunch and would definately return

When I arrived at Kenza there was a real buzz, loud music and bellydancers. Within 30mins the music was turned down and the belly dancer had gone home. The restaurant then seemed very quiet with no atmosphere I was most disappointed as I had been wanting to go there for ages as it sounded such a great place. The food was very good though!

We went to Kenza for a business lunch & while the food & service was fantastic, the belly dancing went on too long & was quite disruptive.

Kenza is a nice place to go if you're looking for fabulous cocktails and good entertainment. The belly dancers come out at about 8:30 and 10:30, and are always keen to get people involved. On average you'll spend about £50 per head, so it's not cheap, but the food is fine. Overall had a great time, even though our waiter was really moody, and they ran out of the lamb cutlets main meal, which was a shame! Despite this it's still worth a visit.

excellent food, setting and service. great fun place to eat. quite expensive without the 50% offer - perhaps geared towards city prices.

I have visited Kenza several times before and love the venue. The thing that lets it down is the lack of decently priced bottles of wine on the menu. Last night there were also several bottles unavailable which was disappointing. Unfortunately even a small amount of alcohol increases the bill greatly. It is a great venue though with tasty food - just be aware that you will pay £35 for a bottle of £7.99 Fleurie!

AMAZING lunch at Kenza! We had booked the toptable offer for 50% of the a la carte menu but the set lunch menu was just as good value for money and the portions were just the right size. The atmosphere and decor were just like being in Marrakech (great memories of my holiday there). We weren't expecting belly dancers at lunch time so this was a pleasant surprise and really added to the atmosphere! I'll definitely be going back.

Kenza was crowded on the Tuedsay lunchtime and atmosphere was very lively. We had the set menus which are excellent value and the portions sizes are good I will be going back.

In my opinion, Kenza is one of the best Moroccan / Lebanese restaurants in London. Food never disappoints!!

Love coming here - it is such an oasis in the city!

bringing starters and mean courses at the same time is bad

I booked the Kenza restaurant for a group of us. I was disappointed with both the service and the food. The starters were fine. We order two main meals. The seafood feast and the meat feast. The seafood feast was excellent however the meat feast the chicken was dry (either overcooked or reheated)

Spent a lovely evening with friends in Kenza. The ambience is really relaxed, especially liked the cushioned booths and decor and the belly dancers were a nice additional touch. This would be a fun place for a party night out where food isn't too high on the agenda, food was nice, not outstanding though, and a little too salty for our tastes.

RO reviewed Kenza on 03/12/2008

The ambience is fantastic, half way throught the meal about 8 belly dancers came out dancing around the resturant. The food is ok, i went there on a date and we just ordered lots of different dishes, at £5 a dish it was fine, wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore, probably had 8 dishes in all. On the whole i would definitely recommend it. Even just go for a few drinks, the bar is amazing.

There were several groups in Kenza (as could be expected shortly before Christmas) and so the service was not as good as usual. Otherwise, good food (particularly the starters) and excellent venue. Good value with the TT deal

The set lunch at Kenza was delicious, with good service and a relaxed atmosphere. It is a welcome oasis in the City.

We had to order the feast menu's as we were a party of greater than 7. Lots of starters, mains were also very good although the portions for those could have been a bit larger, having said that we did not go hungry. Great belly dancers, its a place you go with a group rather than as a couple.

it's a gorgeous venue and the belly dancers are great,

I would recommend this restaurant and go there again

RN reviewed Kenza on 17/12/2008

Once again, this is a fantastic restaurant which really does take pride in what they cook. The lamb feast is well reccomended but be warned the portions are very generous!

Absolutley great for festive team lunch: great atmosphere, great food, great service, fabulous setting- but all my praise comes with having availed of 50% off. Otherwise would be bit too expensive to be honest. Bellydancers were very entertaining indeed! This place is a must for randy City Boys!
