Description of Kettners
Opened in 1867 by Auguste Kettner, chef to Napoleon III, Kettners is one of the oldest restaurants and champagne bars in London, and something of an institution. Three classic restaurant rooms occupy the ground floor, while on the third and second floors are a set of private rooms, each with its own ambience. The 12-cover luxurious Soho Room is furnished with deep leather chairs, while the elegant Napoleon Room provides a bespoke private dining experience for up to 16. The Pop Art-inspired Paolozzi Room seats six. Largest is the Edward Room which seats 50. Kettners may be glamourous but its versatile selection of menus is far from exclusive. Indulge in anything from a pizza to a fresh fish dish. Over a hundred different types of bubbly and champagne cocktails are served in the bar. Please note that Kettners only accepts bookings of 7 or more through toptable.co.uk.

Kettners Reviews

Kettners. Romilly Road. Friendly efficient service. Good food and home made. Quite pricey. Handy for theatreland and black cabs in area

Kettners. We were looking forward to the refurbished Ketthers, but were disappointed. The old curtains used to absorb noise in the restaurant; last night the four of us had to shout to be able to hear each other. Not helped by being put by a large party when there were tables elsewhere we could have had. Food was unexceptional. Waitress was charming and helpful. Bar was fine. Ladies' toilets were very good, men's was apparently very cold.

If you are planning to visit Kettners, don't do so if you want to have a quiet dinner. The lack of fabric in the main restaurant means that you have to shout to ensure that you are heard. Service was slightly slow and lazy at the start but did pick up. Interresting menu and tasty food.
