Description of L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon
L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon restaurant in London's West Street is one hot dining experience. From the stable of Joel Robuchon, the most respected chef on the planet and holder of six Michelin stars, and with siblings in Paris, Tokyo and NYC, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon brings stunning Spanish and Japanese-inflected French cooking to the capital. The ground floor L'Atelier, also chic red and black in stylish minimalism, is where you perch on high stools and admire the chefs in the theatre kitchen cooking tiny, beautiful dishes of intense flavour, served sushi-style. The first floor La Cuisine offers equally marvelous cooking in a bright, monochrome space with trad seating. Dishes include divine pig trotter on parmesan toast, mini burger with beef and foie gras, mackerel on thin tart with parmesan shavings and olives, and magical puds like chartreuse soufflé. The wines are of the highest order, as is the service. Celeb central and foodie heaven.

I went to L'atlier de Joel Robuchon with my friend visiting from Tokyo for dinner. Food was highly innovative and modern, very tasty. we enjoyed their intended mix of Japanese influence and french, british. The whole cretiveness and presentation was a form of modern art!
the only downside could have been their decor, which was a little kitch, and the relatively small space with small chairs which could make some people feel slightly closedphobic. But overall, what great experience.

The food at L'Atelier is excellent and the staff are very diligent. It is quite expensive, but well worth it.

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon was a pleasant surprise, a little different from other restaurants. Taken to bar upstairs first as table not ready. Bar beautifully furnished and drinks list impressive. Took a long time to be seated. Once seated food was of an extremely high standard and beautifully presented. Extremely busy though and it took a long time for us to be served which dampened the atmosphere a little. A fabulous place if you have lots of time to enjoy. Perfect to impress a date!

We ordered from the pre-theatre set menu. The Main Courses were very well done. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic. For mains, the Sea perch was moist, and the Duck Confit served as a sheperds pie was a pleasant surprise. The dessert of the day was really good too. My only complaint was that the size of the main courses was too small, and the meal was not filling. I would only go back if I were richer.

Really nice place with lovely atmosphere and good ambient music. Real lack of veggie choices and when we were told of veggie options there was a meal with ham in it. Needed vegetables with the meals as they were really small. Lovely coffee.

The overall experience of going to L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon was nice. We loved the decor and the music, it was very relaxing. The food was ok but for the prices we expected better quality and taste. I had fish and it was ok but my husband had duck, which was delicious. We highly recommend the dessert - caramel chocolate cake with banana sorbet! Mmmmmm.....

We spent our new years eve dinner at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. The circumstances around a new years celebrations most likely means that it is difficult to give a fair assessment of the real qualities of a restaurant. The menu is set, the house is full until late, staff are stressed. We were happy and satisfied, but food and service did not reach the level that we expected. The set menu was not varied enough, tastes and ingredients reappeared. We expected more creativity for the price paid.

The waitress forgot to bring the drinks we ordered with our dessert... she offered them after we finished them... but otherwise it was a great meal.

Went for lunch at the L'Atelier on the Toptable deal. Only 2 choices for each course but all amazing. The deep fried egg was stunning.. and so was the perch.. amazing flavours. The duck confit was amazing and very naughty (in calories) but excellent never the less. Very quiet at lunch time but would highly recommend.
