Description of L'Oranger
L'Oranger restaurant in London is the kind of special place you feared they weren't making any more. It's a pretty, polished French restaurant serving the classics of French cuisine. These seasonal works of art come from the kitchen of Laurent Michel who has served in triple-starred Michelin establishments in France before gracing St James's with his savoir faire. The elegant dining room is lit by a glass-dome ceiling, filled with starched linen, fresh flowers and gleaming tableware and peopled with fleet uniformed waiters. Seasonally-changing Provencal dishes might include fillet of beef en croute with bone marrow and fourme d'Ambert cheese with veg cooked with rosemary barbajuans. Fine wines, superb cheeseboard, excellent service.

Lovely evening at the L'Oranger, fine ambiance, good service, food was fine if a bit expensive and wine selection was great - staff attentive - will definitely return.

L'Oranger is my favourite restaurant at the moment. Fantastic food beautifully presented, outstanding service terrific wine list. All this comes at a very high price but if you can afford it it is definitely worth it.

My boss's wife went to L'Oranger for a birthday lunch with her friends and said they were exceptionally well looked after. The food was delicious and the service attentive, but unintrusive.

Booked L'Oranger as a birthday treat for my wife and a treat it was ! The presentation of the dishes one can only describe as works of art. Dined a la carte and was not disappointed (have eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants and L'Oranger fared very well). The sommelier was extremely helpful and the staff delightful yet unimposing. The atmosphere elegant and relaxed. Only one criticism - the Degustation menu was uninspiring hence the decision to dine a la carte. Other than that, superb !!!

Our visit to L'Oranger was very pleasant indeed, a lovely mix of great food, wine and ambience. I would thoroughly recommend for couples, the lighting and piano playing in the background is certainly a mood setter! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, which was beautifully presented and melt in the mouth. A little on the pricey side, but well worth a visit.
