la porte des indes was absolutely stunning, with its amazing water feature and attentive staff, the venue itself could not be faulted. the food however was not so good. th naam bread was tasty but slightly burnt and the other 14 guests within our party did not enjoy their meals either. For somewhere stunning with fantastic staff and excellent custoer service, this place would be in my top 5 of reccomendations. for food quality, speedy serving time, this restaurant is not a good choice.

Amazing venue and service but the food and price let it down. Slightly cold and lacking in flavour.

Good service, nice restaurant but poor value for money. Around 2 times more than you would expect to pay for an indian but the food was not twice as nice.

Great Indian food served in one of the most impressive restaurant environments to be found in London. Wonderful ambiance and an a good selection of India's best food. Excellent service providing good advice and always available without being intrusive. A gem that I will go back to again and again.

LA PORTE DES INDES - this restaurant has lost its appeal to us completely. We used to think it good and now think it appeals only to the people who want Indian food without the taste. We were very disapointed. The main course was sent back because it was cold, the selection of the complete menu disappointing and to crown it altogether, the desserts contained chocolate mousse - in an indian restaurant!! Very expensive and not good value - we took clients and felt embarrased at our choice

La Porte des Indes is the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in. There was a buffet on Sunday with the most delicious & interesting dishes freshly prepared. The ambience was out of this world - can't wai to go back.

La Porte des Indes is always an excellent choice, largely due to the setting. Despite its humble exterior, the insides of this restaurant are truly spectacular. The food is of a high calibre as well. The only drawback (if at all) was that the waiting was a little too intrusive, with waiters interrupting conversations with speech without any sort of pause. But this is hardly something to complain about.

La Porte des Indes is unremarkable from outside but the internal decoration brings a taste of India into the West End. A good sampler was the Sunday Brunch which as a buffet allowed us to try a wide range of their offerings. The quality of the food was excellent with good ingredients and the buffet regularly refreshed. Service was very attentive but perhaps overly fussy especially with drinks. This restaurant has less expensive options for weekday lunches. Very popular and booking essential.

Went there for New Years eve. Buzzy atmosphere and a range of food. Restaurant could do with slightly smartening up but overall really enjoyed it.

Le Porte de Indes - Perfect venue, food and service. They have an excellent £23 lunchtime buffet with so much choice!

La Porte Des Indes, very impressiv surroundings, impresses guests as from outside you would not expect what you get inside.
Food is different to your normal indian but very nice.

Porte Des Indes has always been good for supper, I thought the sunday lunch was a little disspointing. The food seemed somehow less inspired than normal and although everything I tasted was good I didn't think it was worth raving about. The drinks are expensive for what they are so the £25 per head quickly adds up to a much more substantial bill. The Jazz was okay but don't imagine its a full band, just a man on an electric piano and a rather uninspiring girl on the microphone.

The mid-week evening at Porte des Indes was very quiet making the decor even more impressive and the service very attentive. As per the food, nothing unforgettable; the £18 set menu gives a reasonnable choice but very standard courses of average quality - disappointing when we know that Porte des Indes can present more innovative dishes. Difficult to find a bottle of wine at less than £30, good though. Would go again if I need to impress my guests with the overall atmosphere, not for the food.

After a poor start--they thought we had no reservation--spoke to manager & after that every thing was excellent.
My marks are for the begining of the evening

porte des indes had APPALLING service, the meat was old and even the mineral water left an unplaesant taste in one's mouth.Would not recommend
