Description of Latium Restaurant
A very smart, intimate restaurant that serves up modern Italian dishes with panache. The room has creamy walls splashed with colour from the modern artworks and mood-enhancing downlighters, while the floor and chairs are in smart dark colours. It would be terrific for business meals or friendly dinners. Chef Maurizio Morelli has taken classic methods and ingredients - plus a few non-traditional ones - and created a new and intriguing menu. Try starter of salad of veal tongue with celery and tuna sauce, or cauliflower soup with gorgonzola and truffle oil, first course of tagliatelle with hare ragout, main couse of roast venison with polenta and Swiss chard timable with glazed chestnuts. The puds are coffee are classically good, too.

Great Ravioli

Maria-Venetia Kyritsi reviewed Latium Restaurant on 06/01/2009

Latium didn't disappoint us for the second time. The red mullet main is the most unique, and although I tried the fish ravioli starter this time, I think the rigatoni with baby octopus was even better. Presentation and service was excellent as usual and the restaurant was quiet on a Tuesday night, which made it feel even cozier. One of our favorite restaurants in London, even if they've increased the set 2/3 course prices a bit. Still very good value for money for fine dining.

Unfortunately we had a long wait for main course. When it did arrive it was cold and so we had to return dinner and wait another 15 minutes. Waiter stressed and not very interested. No smiles from floor manager and very abrupt.

Latium was a delight, with interested eaters at all tables on a Friday evening, and more queuing. A crowd of mixed ages and net worth but most of them obviously knowledgeable in culinary matters. A well staffed restaurant serving good food from an interesting menu. Decent wines, with a few interesting choices under £30. A very solid performance.

Latium is a wonderful experience. Varied and interesting menu, simple formula - 2 courses or 3 for a set price. Good range of choices on wine list, efficient service and relaxing, modern decor. Excellent experience!

Visited Latium with my wife and my parents for supper. Pleasant little restaurant, charming staff who were very welcoming and extremely attentive. The food was very good with some cracking pasta dishes and other delicious meat courses, flexible and extensive menu that was lovingly prepared by the chefs. Reasonably good value for money, wine was quite expensive but not prohibitively so. We'd probably go back just to try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Good but rather tired service. I think they need a holiday.

Our visit to Latium restaurant was lovely experience. We went at lunchtime for a birthday treat, and so it turned out. The food was really very good indeed, we've rarely had better. The waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive , just right. The whole ambience was relaxed and friendly but always extremely efficient. We would definately go again and would recommend Latium to anyone who is looking for a special place to dine. Not cheap, but well worth every penny. PJ

Latium is an excellent Italian restaurant in a great location. The Ravioli was delicious as were the Black Cod and Vension that my partner and I had. The wine however was quite expensive, so overall the cost of the meal was on the high side.
