Description of Le Colombier
Tucked into a backwaterish street off the top end of the Fulham Road, Le Colombier would seem even more at home on the side street of a French provincial harbour town. Both the large, awning-covered terrace and the cosy upstairs dining room are popular with the loyal, 'very Chelsea' crowd. The menu could hardly be more authentically French, offering delicious brasserie style food. Particular favourites include tranche de foie gras to start, or the oysters, especially the Bretonne. Mains include Coquilles St Jacques, scallops with wild mushrooms, and rabbit with cider sauce and fresh pasta. Sharp, professional French service. Probably not the first choice for francophobe vegetarians, Le Colombier is a firm favourite with discerning locals.

We went to Le Colombier last night - no sign of credit crunch here!! It was packed with diners giving a great ambiance. The food and service were also excellent - I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I had the most delicious chicken at Le Colombier - it was totally melt in the mouth. Nothing fazes the waiters and the service is excellent.

Some of the best traditional French food in town that is authentic and unpretentious. Le Colombier has one of the city's best half bottle bordeaux collection as my dinner guest did not want any wine and I was in the mood for a traditional big bold bordeaux. The service was supreme and the steak tartare along with the lamb leg was most delicious. Le Colombier tucked away in a private corner of Dovehouse Street in Chelsea is a perfect location for a cozy french dinner.

For a Wednesday night during a Recession, Le Colombier was packed full and had to turn at least five couples away!
It is the perfect place for a special meal.

Lovely restaurant round the corner from work. Quite pricey though- and the waiters are pretty snooty too- in keeping with the best french tradition.. Food was lovely, but not exceptional- and definitely not exciting! Lots of similar places round London with friendlier service..

Le Colombier- fab lunch, the food was superb and with Margaret Thatcher next to us it made the whole lunch and day memorable!

Le Colombier is a styish French bistro a stones throw from the Royal Marsden Hospital a must to comfort visitors to the hospital both by the excellent simple classic french cuisine and the well trained staff. It is value for money and was full of well groomed well heeled diners despite the gloomy financial period

le Colombier. As close to Paris as you get in London. The food was very good and the service very attentive. A good wine list.

This was the first time I had been to Le Colombier, and after a few negative reviews on here, I wasn't sure. Well quite frankly, they are wrong - this is a great little bistro. Everybody was very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent (goats cheese salad, lamb, tarte tatin for dessert), and the wine list was very good and reasonably priced. The service was pretty leisurely but we weren't in a rush, so no dramas. Both my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and we'll be going back....

I booked a table for two at Le Colombier for two business diners who commented that the food was simple, yet excellent and the service impeccable.

Good, robust French food served by friendly staff. If you're hungry don't order the asparagus, it was the smallest portion I've ever seen!
