Additional information for Les Trois Garcons
What kind of London restaurant attracts the likes of Liz Hurley, Donatella Versace and Madonna? A genuine one-off. Les Trois Garcons is a handsomely converted pub, easily identified on Bethnal Green Road by its flaming torches. Inside the restaurant is pure theatre, the opulent dining room decor falling over itself with stuffed animals (mais oui, that is a bulldog with fairy wings), sparkly crystal chandeliers and all sorts of antique idiosyncrasies. Les Trois Garcons is a bit like being inside Salvador Dali's brain. The Anglo-French food is equally stunning. Duck breast stuffed with black truffles, cannon of lamb with a curry and chocolate sauce, and halibut with spring pea purée, shimji mushrooms, grapes and tarragon jus taste as exquisite as they look. The beautiful staff deserve praise too, for their warmth and knowledgeable service.

One of the best meals I have had in London in a very long time, complemented by fantastic service and a great ambience. I will definitely be returning.

It's several years since I last visited Les Trois Garcons. I was quite disappointed. The food was OK, but not excellent. Portion sizes were generous, but I still felt the meal was very expensive.

Most disappointing was the way we felt we were rushed out. Food arrived very quickly and we were finished in just over an hour. I also felt the waiter, while polite, was too intrusive. Perhaps because courses arrived so quickly it felt as if we didn't have any time to ourselves.

Having been to Les Trois Garcon two years ago and had a thoroughly wonderful evening, we were disappointed on our return visit. It seems this restaurant's popularity has resulted in management cramming additional tables into the space and speeding up service to the point where we felt rushed. The food was still of very quality but at £300 for 3 px (including wine and service) there are better places in London to spend that kind of money.

Decided on a pre-Valentines dinner (it's cheaper and better - my partner and I both agree!). Service and decor were brilliant. Even the toilet (gents) though small was fascinating. Our food was rich and very well cooked, portions decent too. Shin of beef was outstanding, scallops slightly overdone. Would definitely come again but accept the bill will be well over £100

Les Trois Garcons has restored my confidence in going out for dinner in London. Eventhough it is on the expensive (read very) side, it was a fantastic evening and I would definitely recommend this venue for a special night out. Very attentive waiters, excellent food and the much discussed decor lives up to it's reputation. I had foie gras as a starter and lamb as a main. Panna cotta as a dessert followed by grappa and coffee. I will definitely go back!

the food was good although a bit too fussy - messed around with a bit too much. However the ambience and the service were very good and made it an enjoyable experience. Worth going as a one of.

Dining at Les Trois Garcons......what can i say??? Food excellent, staff excellent, ambience excellent and the decor??
Well if stuffed animals wearing jewels and handbags hanging from the ceiling are your thing then book a table and have a very different dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere all the while looking around seeing how many different and eclectic sights you can spot. Absolutely brilliant!

I love Les Trois Garcon. This is the second time that we have been there, and it was just as good as I remember it. Excellent food and wine, and the place itself is so cool. I love the vibe there. You must have the Swiss Cheese - in particular the Selun. It is amazing!

Les Trois Garcons was fantastic for dinner for our group of 7. All the meals were delicious and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Les Trois Garcons is an amazing venue with a real 'wow factor'. The food is excellent; expensive, but worth every penny! Attentive service. Great.

Les Trois Garcons is a fabulous place. Extravagent design, great service, the food was excellent, especially the main courses and the delicious pumpkin/parmesan amuse bouche.

We started with a couple of cocktails round the corner at Lounge Lover and had a memorable night. We had the 3 course £50 menu, but I'd like to go back to try the tasting menu as Nick Knowles on the next table seemed to be enjoying it.

Stuffed animals, minor celebs and great food and service....what more do you need?

I took my girlfriend for a birthday meal at Le Trois Garcon and we both really enjoyed it. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was great. All the food was delicious and my rabbit starter was fantastic. Not cheap, but worth splashing out for a special occasion

My husband and I went to "les trois Garcons" for my birthday dinner. Service was good, though we had to wait a bit to be able to order at the beginning. Waiters were very knowledgable. Decor is great. Food very good quality though not absolutely amazing for the price... not much choice for Vegetarians, but that's quite normal for French cuisine. Creme brulee very good (too big, though-shame to waste it), cheese platter a bit disappointing. All in all a nice dining experience but very dear.

Was a little pricey, but we were a group of 8 and had reserved the private room, which was delightful! Food was very nice and the service was great.

We've had Les Trois Garcon on list of restaurants to try out for a long time as we had heard very good things about the place.

Arriving just before 7 we only saw 2 tables occupied. But soon excentric people started rolling in and the embiance took off.

The first thing you notice is how ornate the place is: stuffed tiger and aligator with tiaras, bijoux handbags hanging from the ceiling, a gorgeous host and french music. Food was refined, an absolute sensation, All in al: a fab treat

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a fantastic meal. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Top recommendation.

Les Trois Garcons is one of those restaurants that transports you to another place entirely, stepping off the East London streets into the decadent dining space. The cuisine is classic French and very well executed, and the staff are attentive but not too fussy. The wine list offers some good choices, though is a little overpriced. This is the only minor gripe, and all in all this is a fantastic gem of a restaurant and well worth a visit.

annie miller reviewed Les Trois Garcons on 12/03/2009

the place is gorgeous and the staff lovely. my only gripe is that the chef makes the classic mistake made m#by meat eaters cooking for vegetarians of trying to create flavours as strong as meat eaters like. we don't need it, our palates are used to more subtle tastes. as a result the food was beautiful but so rich and strong that for over 40 quid for two courses, I consumed no more than half of my main course. looked great though! and my meat eating companion loved her dish.
