Description of Ninja Jones (formerly Kobe Jones)
Ninja Jones restaurant near Tottenham Court Road introduces Japanese-Californian food to London. The décor is rustic Japanese, with dark wood and dim lighting, and if you're after some privacy the main dining area is lined with booths on two sides. On to the east-meets-west cooking: kick off with some Kobe rolls (with the Dynamite Roll you can choose from salmon, scallop or tuna and specify the spiciness level). For mains, try the signature dish of seared smoked salmon marinated in green tea, served with wasabi mash and nori cream. With this sort of food, it's definitely worth keeping up with the Jones.

Nice staff, good food, perhaps a little pricey given the portions.

Hakuba was lovely. Unfortunately however, their nagoya roll was meant to have avocado in it and they only put about 1 cm of avocado on a footlong roll... when i told the waitress - she said it was inside.... i've had this roll several times - it was not inside before and it wasn't inside this time either. She was clueless so i could'nt be bothered to argue... the roll wasn't half as good - you have to have an eel and avocado roll.

Great food, but they ran out of champagne and a lot of alcohol and some food items too. However the food was extremely good and service was good too! Very quiet on a Tuesday night.

A great place for excellent sushi and sashami at reasonable prices in a warm setting - unfortunately the sushi wasn't part of the special offer (1 starter 1 main for 25% discount). We went in a group of 6 and requested a private booth using the comments box in the Toptable reservation form - we got a nice little private area for ourselves and the food was top notch! Service was good and the staff friendly. Also there's a nice bar area with comfy sofas / beds(!) for drinks after the meal.

Hakuba - this was the first time the majority of our party had visitied Hakuba, and we had a good experience overall. Friendly service, great food, different menu and fantastic presentation. We recommend the mixed desert platter.

Hakuba is a good restaurant with good vegetarian food. Reasonably priced with the 25% offer,I would recommend it

Innovative and refreshing food, extremely good with sauce and best scallop sushi ever.

as always food and service second to none.
alas with the loss of the 2-4-1 cocktails untill 7.30pm the meal becomes a little pricey but the maki rolls are certainly worth it!
we went when there was a private function so it was a little noisey but the staff were kind enough to call and prewarn us and tucked us up in a little booth. a great time as always!

We were seating in one of the boxes at theback of the room, was very quiet, good for conversation. The food was brilliant as usual.

Hakuba is perfect if you want excellent food served in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Hakuba offers a unique sanctuary in central London, where you can enjoy excellent food free from the Firday evening deafening crowd that is so difficult to avoid in London. The Belarus waitress is a gem, she made us feel welcome and was extremely helpful. She even recognised us from a previous visit a few months ago, another rarity in London!! Well done Hakuba, I will definitely come back soon.

Threw a suprise birthday get together at Hakuba with 14 people. Great food (particularly the starters), great cocktails! Had a fantastic time!

I went to Hakuba recently with a friend - it's the second time I have visited the restaurant. The food really is excellent, the sushi is wonderfully fresh and the dishes are beautifully prepared and presented. Service is attentive, although sometimes in the booths at the back you get a bit forgotten about. The only problem with the restaurant is that on both occasions that I have been there, it was extremely quiet and therefore the atmosphere was a bit lacking.

being back after some time back in Hakuba, it was still a good meal but the quality of the food not the same! An average in total

JH reviewed Ninja Jones (formerly Kobe Jones) on 24/10/2008

Hakuba was a nice place but not spectacular. Still a tad expensive even with the 25% discount. Booths were really nice and cosy though so great for an intimate dinner and a twist on the usual japanese food.

Romantic ambience, ideal for a romantic dinner. The food at Hakuba was fine, with fair sized portions (especially with TopTable offer) - highlight for me was the deliciously fresh sashimi. Waiting staff were friendly but let down by their haphazard organisation - early in the evening, four staff came in the space of 10 minutes to ask if we wanted to order drinks, but after the meal we had to wait 20 minutes to even ask for the bill because no staff was around. This must be improved.
