Prince of Wales Reviews

We had yet another excellent dinner at The Prince of Wales last night. Our friends from out of town couldn't stop raving about the steak & ale pie or the hamburger (that looked to die for). Even my wife's pork shoulder was amazing. We'll definitely be back many more times if they keep this level of quality up.

We visited the Prince of Wales pub for a meal for the first time on Saturday evening. The food was excellent as was the wine. The service was very good and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We will definately go again - sooner rather than later!

Booked a table for 3 however was a higher bar-type table just outside the main dining area - slightly awkward. Saying that, food was very good, and service also. Would recommend

Prince of Wales. A really good find in Putney and will definitely go back. Our mains were v good but would probably not suit the ravenous. Slightly odd attitude to side veggies - ie non on offer except for salad. Waitress explained all veggies allocated to main but glad we encouraged chef to spare some as these were cooked beautifully and bumped up the main portion nicely. Chocolate dessert sadly way too heavy even for this chocoholic and shortbread not 'short' enough.

My guests and I enjoyed an excellent meal at the Prince of Wales pub. The food was simple, but well execeuted with the use of fantastic produce. The staff were knowledgable and attentive. No cause for any complaints, I didn't even have to walk downstairs to go to the toilet.

We were lucky to visit the Prince of Wales on the first sunny day this year & sat outside in the sunshine. The outside area is on a main road but traffic was hardly noticed - may have been the beer. The food was good pub usuals; the cauliflower risotto was superbe! Burgers came on ciabatta which was a little hard to eat (I prefer baps) but the burgers were good and the chips excellent. Puddings were fantastic! Inside area looked good but most people were outside. Would go back.

Excellent restaurant with great ambience and tasty food. The only disappointment was the somewhat wilted watercrest garnish that accompanied the starter of fried pigs head, but that was the only complaint. The pork (both for starter and main course) was very tender and flavorful. Service was friendly and relaxed. Layout of the restaurant (i.e., outside terrace, indoor pub drinking area and proper dining room in the back) provides something for everyone.

Took a bunch of out-of-towners there as they were staying nearby. They all hugely enjoyed the meal and complimented the choice of restaurant. I'm hoping it's not just because I paid! Food was delicious. and service very friendly if perhaps a touch slow.

Went to the Prince of Wales because of the rating, was not disappointed the food was superb and the pear cider recommended on the menu was wonderful.

Another trip to the Price Of Wales, and another superb meal. The fried pig's head was sublime, followed by a fantastic chop for me and excellent steak with snails for my partner. Finished off with Brown Bread and marmalade ice-cream. Truly excellent dining.

Enjoyed Prince of Wales. Best two things: The Deserts & The Pie main. Worst two things: Toilets and Wine menu expense.

The Prince of Wales is perfect for a great meal served by friendly and attentive staff, especially if you are looking for a good catch-up with friends. The restaurant has a buzzing atmosphere which gives a good backdrop for a private conversation without needing to shout! I would recommend as a local go-to but not worth a trip across town.

Prince of Wales in Putney. The food was excellent, every item was made in the kitchen using UK based providers (which were listed on a board for all to see), nothing frozen or pre bought. The quality and flavours of the fish, meat, vegetables and deserts was something special. I would highly recommend this place for a Sunday lunch

Four of us ate in the Prince of Wales last night. Initially walking in to this pub you would not necessarily realise this dining area was there at the back. The provenance of all the food, which was organic and British, was displayed on a blackboard in the dining room - we thought this was great in addition to the food being delicious. Service was good and there was a buzzy atmosphere. I would go back and would also recommend to others for a meal out with friends.

The second trip to The Prince Of Wales in 3 days! Again the food and service were excellent

Another good meal at the Prince of Wales, though I think I prefer it as a winter venue. Service is always friendly and desserts worth the calories.

The Main Course was more enjoyable than a lot of michelin star food i have eaten and was very good value for money. One of my favourite restaurant highly recommend.

A somewhat limited menu but supurb quality, with really fresh produce. Relaxed atmosphere with attentive service and really good value - will be back regularly!

Prince of Wales has a short but varied menu, only drwaback is that it is a pub with restaurant prices so pretty noisy
