Description of Shezan
Shezan the Indian restaurant, who opened its Knightsbridge doors 40 years ago. Shezan remains the only Indian restaurant in the UK to receive a star rating from Egon Ronay, The Gold Plate Award, and win Restaurant of the Year. Impressive, wouldn't you say? The chef certainly knows his stuff as he trained with the best chef from the region. It's physically arresting too. Diners descend into an ornate cocktail bar filled with an atmospheric array of native objects and trinkets. If you like live music with your meal, go on a Friday or Saturday. But whatever the day or night, you can bet your bottom rupee you'll find yourself in an unhurried atmosphere. Please note that the food at Shezan is freshly prepared to order. Ocassionally this can mean waiting times are longer.

Additional information for Shezan

Choose from a la carte and set menus, although bespoke ones are welcomed. Shezan is old fashioned in its philosophy, and thank heavens for that because it means you, the customer, really does always come first. Feel safe in the knowledge that at you and your guests will be well looked after here.

the food was very good, authentic Indian dishes freshly made not like the normal bland taste that you would get in an Indian restaurant. What shocked me most was the price! There was 3 of us and we had no alcohol only a bottle of water with 3 lassi's, a couple of starters and 4 main dishes with rice and bread and a desert each and the bill came to over £200. I 've had much more verities and tastier food for less than that!

I went to Shezan for New Year's Eve and it we had a set menu meal for £50 which was very good value. The food itself was really nice and we didn't have to wait between meals. The staff at Shezan were very welcoming as soon as we stepped through the door and we all felt very comfortable there. The live music was great and added a lovely touch to a superb night!

Tucked in a tiny street two minutes from Harrods, no one would stumble onto Shezan. Thank you, TopTable! The service was wonderful - attentive yet unobtrusive, and the food was delicious, all made to order, so we had time to chat all evening. I requested a quiet table and we were seated in a peaceful corner. I don't know why it isn't packed with TT diners, given the 50% offer!! At £34 for 2 including service, it was good value. The ladies' room had a scale!-not sure why! Menu was intriguing.

Went to Shezan last night.
Hard to find as its tucked away down a side street off Brompton Road. Was a bit worried we might not get a table as we were running 30mins late. No need to panic as the only other people in, were leaving as we came in! Bit disconcerting but hey ho, we'd made it this far.
The staff were friendly & made us feel welcome, I counted 8 staff out front, excluding the chefs. Food was ok, nothing special.
Still came to £80 with two beers & two JDs, too dear even with 50% off.

The Indian food at Shezan is very good, but the service was less than spectacular. The toilets were not very nice and the ambience was not up to par either.

Shezan was lovely. Food was delicious and the waiters were very attentive. The waiter even offered to make anything as hot or as mild as we wanted which pleased some of our mild palates. Discount wasnt really 50% off food as we previously arranged but nonetheless the ambience, food and service made up for it.

Shezan was empty when we arrived for a 7pm meal on a Fri night which made me apprehensive. Service was friendly...the wrong rice was served (and charged) and we were mistakenly charged for an extra dish. Otherwise the experience was ok but i wouldnt go back. The food was quite spicy but i think it was athentic.

Shezan is an excellent find.

We took advantage of the 50% food discount offer for our monthly curry evening. This made the food excellent value - we had the three course set menu for £20 each. As indicated by the Toptable ad the food took a while to arrive, but it was worth the wait - a wide variety of excellent flavours. The waiters were very polite and attentive - great service.

Beers were a little pricy at £6 each - pushing the price per head to a still reasonable £35 (including tip).

Great food. Very quiet but was Monday night. Brought cake out with giant sparkler. Lovely management and very helpful.

As usual, the food at Shezan was absolutely awesome. Never mind the lack of ambience, the food more than makes up for this!

First of all Thank you TopTable for finding us last minute table!Service at Shezan was wonderful - attentive yet unobtrusive, and the food was delicious, with the 50% offer it was good value for money. If you are a fan of "Gajrialla" (sweet dish), try it - it is awsome.
