Description of Shish - Old St
Obviously on to a winner in Willesden Green, Shish opened a second branch in Hoxton, just as buzzy as the aforementioned first. A modern kebaberie at heart, this small but perfectly formed chain specialises in healthy, good value skewered dishes originating in Silk Road countries. In the white, bright open plan brasserie-style restaurant a sleek dining bar allows you to see exactly how freshly your meal is being prepared. Down the spiral staircase is a beautiful Oriental-themed bar, populated with funky stools and comfy booths. Laidback global beats combine with low lighting to create a happy, comfortable vibe, much appreciated by the fashionable 20 and 30-something Shoreditch crowd. Live DJ sets make Thursdays and Fridays very popular nights.

Additional information for Shish - Old St
This Hoxton branch has a reputation for being a bit of a party Shish. The stylish restaurant has a capacity of over 100 and can be booked for up to 50 guests, while the funky cocoon-like lounge bar can fit a hundred guests for a sit down meal, and about 150+ at a reception. A horseshoe-shaped area to the right of the bar suits groups of around 70, and there are several booths that fit ten. Both floors are flexible spaces that can be rearranged to suit your event. Exciting, diverse menus. Great cocktails - especially the signature Bison Grass vodka-based cocktail, Holy Shish. Live music Thursdays and Fridays. Open seven days a week.

A group of us went to shish on our lunch break... the service was friendly and fast which was good as we needed to rush back. The food was excellent. Would definately recommend for a lunchtime venue.

We had a good afternoon lunch at the Shish. The food was good and very filling it was fairly cost effective. It wasn't very busy in the afternoon however it did seem as though it took a while for staff to take our order or to get their attention. Overall we enjoyed our team lunch!

I was very, very happy with the level of service that we received at Shish Cocktail Bar!. None of our orders were mixed up, and that requires skill, especially considering we were a part of over 20, and everyone kept changing seats. The cocktails are very tasty and the drinks menu offers a decent selection. I'll go back again!

Shish Restaurant - Old Street.
I had booked a table for my birthday party there, on second thought I would have chosen a different day, as I had booked it on a Friday and they were very busy. Apart from the food taking a bit longer than I would have liked for it to be ready, everything else was great. The Afghan chicken is really tasty, definatly recomend it!

Shish is a nice restaurant close to my work - good bite to eat after work. Will be going back as local and convenient.

Shish was good value with the 2 for 1 offer (under ten pounds for 2 dishes) but it wasn't anything special. I found with my Afghan chicken kebab that there actually small amount of meat. It was ok for a quick bite to eat but am sure there will be better places to eat in the area. Service was good and staff friendly.

The food at Shish is pretty decent, although for ambience it's more Wagamama than romantic dinner. I can recommend the Kashmiri Lamb & the Afghan Chicken. The idea of the dishes all coming from along the Silk Route is interesting too. The various deals through TT make it very good value.

The quality of service has dropped slightly.
The food wasn't as rtasty as the previous three times I have been there. MAybe because I took there a largew group.

Having said that, they had half price happy hour on drinks (All cocktails and beers). If you've had their cocktails you'd know they're GOOD!

Was really looking forward to a work night out at Shish and the reviews were great so was expecting great things... maybe the waitress was having a bad night but the service was slow and unfriendly. We asked for a selection of mezze to be bought out for 10 people and asked the waitress to recommend a selection enough to feed 10 - we received a tiny selection and had to order more. It went down hill from there. Food was ok, not great. The restaurant did offer 20% off the bill which was fair.

Food was a bit plain but nice setting and good service.

Booked Shish for a quick bite to eat after work. Service was great but unfortunately the food did not live up to some of the reviews I had read. Would visit again as I liked the place and possibly worth a second try.

Shish is a nice and convenient place to end up if you fancy a decent kebab (not the takeway type!) and other middle eastern treats. Good for vegetarians and extensive menu. Wine choices limited to 5/6 bottles for white and red.

Shish serves decent, authentic kebabs in a busy location with slightly crowded tables. We must have been unlucky with timing as we had to wait ages for our drinks and were only allowed one menu to share. I think the woman next to us who had her food accidentally tipped in to her lap by the waitress was probably even less happy with the service though.

4 of us had a lovely meal at Shish, my boyfriend had an amazing chicken tabula salad which was literally the best tasting salad i've ever had. I had a chicken shish with rice which was equally as tasty. Food arrived quickly, service was attentive. We ate late, 10pm on a saturday night and the ambience was lovely, not too busy but a nice buzz. Will definitely be returning for another of those salads!
