Description of Sidi Maarouf
Sidi Maarouf is a popular restaurant on London's bustling Edgware Road. Amongst the shisha smokers and discount electrical shops, this little Moroccan gem is a favourite with locals, businessmen and tourists. With bright red walls, crisp white tablecloths and friendly service, Sidi Maarouf is famous for its fresh, fragrant flavours and traditional recipes. The sumptuos Moroccan décor compliments the hearty menu. Popular dishes include the feta and mint briouettes and the chicken badawi tagine - pieces of chicken breast cooked with potato, green peas and olives - with couscous. With a buzzy atmosphere, top food and a location convenient to Paddington and Edgware Road stations - Sidi Maarouf is a fun place to catch up with colleagues and friends.

Had one of the best dining experiences in recent memory at Sidi Maarouf yesterday evening. The food, service and atmosphere were all much better than we expected, given the reasonable prices. We will be returning often.

WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT! I read the various reviews for Sidi Maarouf and it sounded ideal for a client night out We were only 1 of 2 tables eating and the main courses were a big let down - especially in their presentation. Then, worst of all, the keyboard player in the corner came to life and started wailing so loudly that the 6 of us couldn't hear ourselves speak. I asked them to turn him down (or off!) and he just got louder. For the money (£60p/h) there are better places to eat. don't bother!

Sidi Maarouf offers mediocre North African cooking at exalted prices for what you get (approx. £40 per person with 1/2 bottle of wine). The couscous was a real disappointment. The waiters are pleasant and willing and the restaurant itself is quiet and unassuming in a Moroccan sort of way.

Sidi Mararouf was an excellent find! A beautiful restaurant, excellent, fresh food, personal service and just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, they brought over a wonderful fresh fruit platter. Highly recommended for a relaxed lunch.

We found the Sidi Maarouf a very pleasent, authentic place to eat. The service was superb and the staff were very friendly. The food was of a very good standard, we had a selction of starters, olives (which they brought out extra as we finished the first lot). The lamb shank was amazingly tender and was the pick of the mains they had. They also bring out complementry selection of fruits and small morrocan desserts.
One major plus point were the belly dancer. They danced and looked stunning.
