Description of Smollensky's - Canary Wharf
An old friend has moved into the neighbourhood. Smollensky's has smartened up a bit for Canary Wharf, with a hint of shellfish with bubbly added to the comfortable Smollensky's mix of updated Art Deco furnishings and an all-American menu. In fact, Smollensky's still manages to offer something for nearly everyone. It's great for business lunches and after-work drinks, and for rather more romantic dinners a deux, then goes all family -friendly for the weekend. The view over the docks from the terrace is charming in the sun. The modern American menu includes long-time favourites like hot and spicy BBQ chicken wings for starters and mains like burgers, chipolte glazed salmon, or an array of steaks for which they are justly celebrated.

Was fine, service was pleasant but food was served much too quickly. It was NYE and we were hoping to make an evening of it but due to the speed of service it felt more like a business lunch.

Visited Smollensky's on Friday for lunch. Have been here many times and enjoy the atmosphere for a business lunch. Wouldn't go there for a romantic meal, but it serves it's purpose during the week and the food is always tasty with a varied menu and good wine list.

The location and the service are excellent whilst the food was average, albeit we did not take the steak or burgers which would be the restauarnts speciality dishes.

Good for informal business lunch in Canary Wharf. Food was good, service was good seeing as it was busy.

A brightly lit, very loud box of a restaurant, providing average service of average food at above average prices.
OK for business lunches a) if you don't mind shouting at each other, and b) if you are not in a rush.

Smollensky's has a lovely warm feeling as soon as you walk through the door with lovely views of Canary Wharf through the mass of glass. The service was fantastic and our waitress was very charming. We ordered from the a la carte menu and there was good choice at expensve but reasonable prices . I had a Sirloin Steak that was to die for and cooked perfectly sauce and finished with a pistacio cheeecake which was superb. Bill came to £120 for three with starters, dessert and a nice bottle of rose

Decent value for money, but neither the food nor the atmosphere will blow you away at Smollensky's... bit like a train station for business lunches! But a nice view of the wharf and lovely service throughout. Certainly not a bad option, but not a "must return to" either...

Had lunch at Smollensky's in Canary Wharf. The service was average, but the Scottish rib-eye steak was superb and my friend's butterfish was also good. It's pricey, but worth it if you like good steak.

Smollensky's - Canary Wharf
Mostly recognised in canary wharf as a bar but the food is of a great standard. The atmosphere is great, whether there is a group of you or just two of you. Service is quick an efficient and I highly recommend the Fish Jambalya for the main dish.

Nice place, good location when working in the Wharf. We had to send back three dished, the food was a little cold as it was so busy. A ok restaurant for a business lunch

I booked an early evening meal at Smollensky's in Canary Wharf for a work meal. It was fairly quiet all evening but then all Canary Wharf was as the credit crunch seems to hit. The service was adequate and we were not rushed into our order even though I think we were a good 20mins late arriving and it took us another 20mins to order. The food is of good quality and portions were generous. None of the 7 persons dining had any complaints and all enjoyed their food. Reasonably price for the area.

Smollensky's in canary whatf was very pleasant until a table of very loud drunk people sat themselves very near to us!

This was a birthday treat for my wife - the staff remembered my request for a window seat - nice touch. We skipped the starters and each went for 12oz South American steaks with fries and steamed vegtables. The steaks were excellent - full of flavour and moist despite our request for them to be well done. Desert was Mud Pie - light at the same time sumptious. Our waiter knew his wines; we had different glasses of red and desert wines. I couldn't fault Smolesnky's - a truly memorable experience!!

This was my first return visit to Smollenskys in Canary Wharf in about a year and would say I was very pleasantly surprised by the food and service and think it was much improved from previous visits.

Smollenskys - Canary Wharf
Overall the restaurant was good, although it was very busy so if you are looking for a quiet lunch this is not the place to go.
