Description of Souk Medina
Inspired by the popularity of his award-winning Souk Bazaar on Litchfield Street, Samir Mahdi has opened a substantially larger bar and restaurant nearby. Happily, the same guarantees apply - affordable North African food, fun atmosphere and a relaxed crowd. In the subtly-lit cave-like downstairs restaurant diners sit on colourful low seating and luxurious floor cushions. If you just want a sit down and a natter in comfort, there's also an atmospheric tranquil tea room and candle-lit cocktail lounge, sweet with the scent of shishas. If you're looking for good-value fun in authentic Moroccan surroundings in central London, Souk Medina is well worth a visit.

Interesting non-alcoholic choices such as meknes, fresh mango shaken with milk, raspberry syrup and mango nectar. International wine list.

Souk Medina Reviews

SOUK Medina is a a beautiful restaurant. As you walk through the doorway along the corridor, it's like you really have been transported to Marrakech. The food was delicious and with just the right number of choices. The food portions were a bit on the small side given the price though. The sevice wasn't great either. They didn't have my reservation and created quite a fuss and apart from one very helpful waitress, the others didn't seem to want to know unless you stood up and did a little dance.

The food was very nicely presented and tasted great. I would go to the Souk Medina again.

Not sure whether we hit them on a bad night between Christmas and New Year but we were slightly disappointed with Souk Medina. The food was unremarkable and the first bottle of wine we selected was terrible and had to be sent back (the second was fine). We also found a bottle of water which we hadn't ordered had added to our bill. It is a pleasant and cosy place to sit and is probably best for a bigger group in party mode.

Food amazing, but the place and the atmosphere was the winning part of it. It makes what could be a possible boring dinner out, into a more fun and relaxed night with all the lounges and music etc. The only negative was that the music was rather loud, and even though it was crackling it was so loud, it was only until we asked to move seats, that they realised that one one could hear themselves speak! I would hope that was a one off anyway.

Service was a bit slow, and the restaurant is geared up for a quick turnaround of tables, but otherwise a very enjoyable evening.

I love Souk Medina. The food is plentiful and delicious, the atmosphere is great and it is a fun meal all around. It started our New Year's Eve off perfectly and I will most certainly be back!

6 of us went to Medina Souk on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, food good (not the best but fine) and service also good. We each had a starter, a main, some had a dessert and we all had cocktails and four bottles of good wine between us and the bill came to £45 each so great value we thought. Would definitely go again.

Nice food, good ambience. Starters delicious - and also really recommend spinach and fetta cheese main course. Unlimited food refills on the set menu.

Food was OK (we chose the set Meze menu - three starters, mains - chicken and lamb were lovely and baklava dessert). They seemed a little disorganised and it takes a long time to get your first drink (while waiting 30 mins for a table that we had booked but was not ready). Mainly I didn't find the food all that great but it's a cute place still.
