Description of Spaghetti House Sicilian Avenue
It took the warmth and passion of the folks behind Spaghetti House to convince postwar London to give Italian cooking a try way back in the 1950's, and we've been flocking here ever since. This branch is set in a Victorian pedestrian walkway where the warm weather brings diners out onto the pavement, a little bit of Italy in urbe. As good as the location may be, the best reason to eat here is that the food is just sooooo good. Pasta, in all its glory, is at the centre of the menu. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better fettuccine alfredo or spaghetti bolognese, even at twice the price. But the starters, salads, pizzas, and meat and fish courses are just as good. Try chicken with lemon and pine nut sauce or salmon with pesto, and the wine list is so reasonably priced you can afford to experiment. This branch is near the British Museum and the inns of court, two other great British institutions.

Additional information for Spaghetti House Sicilian Avenue
For the best part of fifty years the warmth, passion and terrific food of the folks at Spaghetti House have been drawing Londoners in the hundreds, which makes it perfect for relaxed, happy groups and gatherings of almost any sort. This branch is just around the corner from the British Museum and the inns of court, two other great British institutions and the cosy downstairs can be hired for private parties. The decor is far from stuffy, more of a light, modern eaterie with an easy ambience. Spend the whole evening, or make it a jumping-off point for further adventures.

The Spaghetti House is a lovely restaurant with great ambience and friendly Italian staff. However I think I must have lucked out with the spaghetti gamberoni as my fellow diners seemed to enjoy their meals much more.

The Spaghetti House is a great value venue to meet friends. The food is good, but not great, the atmosphere is warm - a good mixture of regulars and tourists. Seating outside in summer months is a real bonus.

More of a family restaurant, however the pasta here is good, and sitting outside on a sunny day is really nice.

The Spaghetti House is a favourite meeting place for a group of friends. Relaxed, great value and the food is fine. Had a lovely goats cheese salad, my friends pizza and pasta dishes were good. Washed down with plenty of house white for £16 per head.

Spaghetti House on Sicilian Avenue is by no means a fine dining restaurant but if you are looking for traditional, well cooked Italian food served by Italians who know what they are doing then this is the place. Ask for a table on the terrace if you are lucky enough to have good weather.

Not for the first time we chose Spaghetti House, Sicilian Avenue, because it is convenient, large, and can accommodate a big group. However, every time we go there we just wish it could offer a slightly better experience. The location is great, the ingredients are good enough, the service - though a bit surly - is effective. But if only they could match the authentic taste and vibe that we get at our favourite Italian restaurant, not far away, we would come here a lot more often.

The Spaghetti House Sicilian Avenue is a lovely little resturant, placed about holfway between the British Museum and Holborn Station, making it a great place to have lunch or dinner after a trip to the British Museum. The only negative is that it seemed a bit cramped upstairs, though it wasn't particuarly busy maybe it was just that our table was pushed up against the wall so it was a bit of a squeeze for us to slide in. Over-all, a really enjoyable experience, I look forward to my next visit.
