Description of St Germain
St Germain has Gallic- meets-A-list-New York-style in (champagne) buckets. It retains the high-ceilinged charm of the printworks it once was and mixes it slickly with low-hanging lamps, big mirrors, glossy wood and black bow-backed chairs. The elegant black and white floored-bar leads to a busy dining area alive with enjoyment of French classics - duck confit, cassoulet (the plat du jour on Wednesdays), steak tartare... The seafood selection includes crevettes, and a half lobster. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and - at weekends - a life-restoring brunch for the hungover. A welcome addition to cool Clerkenwell.

Additional information for St Germain
A discreet - if not quiet - venue for business meetings, St Germain has 96 covers (including the bar). Set menus are available for groups of 8-16 diners at both lunch and dinner. The brunch a la carte menu is offered to large groups. Common dietary requirements are catered for.

St Germain Reviews

Very nice place with good atmosphere. The bar area is nice too. We chose from the a la carte menu - could do with more choice I think, but overall a very good experience.

St Germain was excellent. The food was good and the staff attentive. I will certainly go back there.

Quite night. Didn't have my first choice of meal at St Germain. For my colleague, it was similar. Food was of reasonable quality. 50% off made it OK value. Staff were attentive but did not seem keen.

Would recommend St Germain for good food and ambience. Service was excellent - efficient and friendly. The prix fixe menu (which is available to anyone) is good value.

I often use St Germain for lunch as its only 20 yards from the office. The service is prompt and friendly and the food always good. On this occassion I had the grilled mackerel, which was perfectly cooked and enhanced with a new sauce. The toulouse sausages also well presented. The bill from the fixed price menu reasonable value.

Great space at the St. Germain, good service (a little slow with the mains, but acknowledged by the wait staff) and excellent value for money

Good value. Friendly service. Pretty good all round.

The food was not great, and certainly not value for money. Service was very very slow for a weekday lunch meaning we had to cut the meal short and not have desert.
