St Pancras Grand Reviews

The atmosphere at the St Pancras Grand was great - the decor is beautifully done, and the night we were there an excellent jazz trio was playing. However the food and service perhaps didn't quite live up to expectations. The food slightly lacked finesse, and the service as well veered between excellent and somewhat unpredictable. It was an enjoyable evening however, and just a little tightening up on standards will make this an excellent restaurant.

St Pancras Gand would be a great place for a civilised bite to eat before a train journey but I would not go out of my way to go there for a special occasion. I liked the menu and everyone enjoyed their food. Wines were a bit pricey. What was lacking most was the service which was, to be generous, inexperienced.

St Pancras Grand was so warm on a cold evening! Really inviting with excellent food, service and ambience. Price a
bit steep for some dishes, but also choice at the lower end.
A really good evening which will, I am sure, be repeated.

St Pancras Grand is like going back 60 or so years + is really what a restaurant in a Train Station should be - charming, great for people watching and fantastic for having a good meal before a long journey. Service still not up to scratch - lots of staff but doesn't appear to be any defined roles & responsibilities such that we ended up being served by c 7 individuals over the course of our 90 mins there. Also- this is an Oyster Bar - greatOysters, but the staff need to know which ones they are

We had a great evening out with friends - I'd very much recommend it.

Enjoyable - good english food let down by slow and un attentive service

The St Pancras Grand was great. Good food, but quite pricey. An interesting menu, with a mixture of traditional British food (with interesting twists), and French (appropriate for its setting!)

Three of four dishes tried (fish and chips, haddock and poached egg, egg custard) were excellent. The apple crumble was less good and serving it with creme anglaise rather than proper custard seemed odd for an otherwise proudly British restaurant. £70 for this and a carafe of red seemed a little steep. A more serious flaw on our visit was the service. Other tables appeared to fare better but we were often overlooked. The design of the restaurant is perfectly judged throughout.

The location is fabulous and the food good, but the service is lamentably slow. Not the place to go if you have a train you absolutely have to catch.

A smart and well-run restaurant. The idea of noting which dishes can be made quickly is a good one for those with a train to catch.

Although we were placed in outer-, outer-Siberia (we could at least see the Eurostar comings and goings as compensation), the St Pancras grand ambience seemed lively and the service was impeccable. We both had the Christmas special menu and my wife appreciated the veggie dishes which didn't resort to boring risotto. My plaice was excellent and the crackers which came with the pud were a nice touch. Only opened in August and recommended but book as walk-ins are often turned away as they're busy.
