First time viist to The Taste of India. We had a set lunch menu at £11 which was very good value. Pleasant enough environment, but very quiet as very few diners and could have done with a bit of background music to help with the atmosphere.

Taste of Indian is a nice, small, indian restaurant perfect for a pre-theatre dinner. On arrival you are being offered Poppadums (extra 50p per person) that come with 4 hot or non spicy sauce. The starter is really small but the main dish is a decent size and is being served in a nice copper pot with rice or veg on the side. Unfortunately because we were in a rush before the show we did not get the chance to taste the creme brulee . For 10 pounds, the deal definately worth going.

Taste of India is fantastic value with the £11 for three courses, including glass of wine and coffee. A warm ambience and pleasant decor with very attentive service. The food on the limited set menu was tasty, coffee was re-filled, my friend got more pudding on request and I was given a double portion in my doggie-bag. Would recommend for an anytime relaxed meal out for no particular occasion.

The taste of India is a nice romantic restruant, however I found the waiters were abit pushy when came to getting us to order, the food was very good, my only complaint is i chose the 3 course meal and two classes of wine for £11 through top table but some how i ended paying £35

Taste of India: This is a quite little India restaurant just outside the market place of Covent Garden. The food is nice although small portions and dessert was only a choice of ice cream or ice cream and the jug of water we asked for was warm water!! The service was good although there was only 4 tables in (it was a Sunday evening however) so it was not busy. We had problems with the bill as they did not take our 'Top table' discount off until i showed them the full refernce of my booking!

I had gone to the Taste of India once before, more than a year ago and had really liked the food. This time around however, I was quite disappointed. It has less variety than your typical curry house, and the prices are quite high, even for theatreland standards. We had 2 mains, 1 rice and 1 naan and 2 cokes and ended up paying £50! Also my boyfriend's Tikka masala was quite spicy, although it's usually a mild dish, and the menu didn't warn about it. It's a pity but we will not be returning.

we found the taste of india a quite pleasant experience with food, service & ambience all ok. I would rate the whole experience as being about average, not amazing but ok.

The Taste of India restarant was fine and the food was very good, but there's nothing very special about it, I didn't think. The waiter was more than friendly and happy to help - and they also helped themselves to a 10% tip, which was automatically added to our bill. I alwasy thought this should not be an automatic thing, but the size of the tip should reflect how much you enjoyed the experience. Then they grumbled a bit when we wanted to pay using American Express...Oh well!!

Taste of India
Offer of 4 courses for £10 and got free beer/wine.
Service: odd. At first the waiters were helpful and friendly. They suggested that we all ordered wine, so we could get us a bottle. But they didn't give us the bottle. As we filled in feedback card, waiter asked if he would be losing his job. But he didn't seem to be joking and was not very friendly afterwards.
Ambience: music was quite strange. Atmosphere nicer on the other side of restaurant.
Awesome value for ££. May go again

We had a very nice meal at taste of India. The vegetable thali was very nice with a nice mix of flavours and plenty of food.

We had the special offer £9.95 meal at Taste of India. Starters was a choice of bhajis, samosa or veg patty; followed by a choice of 3 curries with rice and creme brulee with tea or coffee for dessert plus a glass of wine. The food was pretty standard, but good value for money and it was enough to fill us up. The service was fine, although a bit rushed even though the place was pretty much empty. Overall it was very good value for money if you are in the area and fancy a curry but pretty average

Taste of India provided a good venue for our 20-party meal. They coped well with the numbers and the food was tasty with good service and freindly staff. Good value for money.

Taste of India - I'ma bit spoilt for choice with amazing Indian restaurants where I live but this place was not a bad option for Covent Garden area and the £11 for 3 courses plus a (n alcoholic drink) offer was fantastic value with really friendly & fast service without being rushed out the door. There was a rather odd chirping noise though, didn't manage to work out if there was a bird trapped in the vase of lillies...and not the best decor/atmosphere but a recomendation nonetheless.
