Description of Thai Square - Islington
The Thai Square group have done a good job of turning three levels of shops near Angel Tube into a recommendable mid-priced restaurant. Tall ceilings, lots of natural light, plants and traditional Thai art are among the nice touches that make for a genuinely comfortable eating environment. Overlooking the large main dining room is an equally spacious mezzanine, often reserved for private parties. The bar's in the basement. Pick of the consistently good menu are Thai-restaurant staples, pad thai and green chicken curry. The more adventurous like weeping tiger. Not the real thing, of course, but a spicy beef dish. The vegetarian menu fills an entire page. Lovely staff. All in all, very good value.

For good Thai food i will allways recommend Thai Square. service an be a bit slow but otherwise makes up for it in the food.

Average food, rude waiting staff.

The Islington Thai Square isn't the prettiest restaurant ever, but it's a good value and laid-back member of the London chain. The food is very tasty, and best experienced as part of a good size group when you order a range of dishes and try everything. The one black mark is for service: on this visit, there were ten-minute gaps between dishes in the same course arriving, and there was always a waiter when you didn't want one, and never when you did - but having been before, this isn't typical.

The Tom Kha Gai was delicious as were the curries. Food is above average Thai for London but the room lacks ambience and they did rush us through the courses pretty quickly.

Thai Square Islington was a perfect venue for a mid-week dinner!

Thai Square Islington has great ambience,. It is clearly a popular choice for many people, as every table was taken when we arrived. The food was superb and we throughly enjoyed it. The staff are very polite, they gave us time to enjoy our meal, without any unnecessary interruptions. We were chatting so much that we forgot the time, when I looked around I realised we were the last in the restaurant and it was closed....even then the staff didn't interrupt us....

Food was nice at Thai Square Islington. The staff were a bit rushed and impersonal but apart from that, a nice night.

Good food and nice atmosphere, perfect for birthday parties, though you have to have one of the set menu's (there are 3) if there are 10 or more of you but the variety was impressive.

The Thai Square in Islington has very attentive staff who are very well mannered too. The food was well presented and tasted very nice indeed. My only criticism would be that the green chicken curry was hotter than I have had elsewhere and caught me by surprise.

we arrived late at Thai Square due to the underground. We were unable to phone ahead so when we arrived we were met with rudness by the staff. We were rushed into ordering even though our table wasn't ready. When we ordered a course and asked for more we were told that we could only order one more due to the kitchen closing. Shame as the food is great and having been here before it was great then. Will try again though as usually value for money.
