Description of The Brasserie at The Tower
Top marks for the view. The Tower Hotel is on the north bank of the Thames overlooking pristine St Katharine's Docks and next door to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Located on the ground floor of The Tower are the hotel's two restaurants: a carvery and The Brasserie. The Brasserie is more of a casual dining experience serving a Modern British menu in a light, airy space with a panoramic view of Tower Bridge. The animated, largely City crowd show a particular liking for the crab and salad starter followed by a nice ribeye steak and veg. High-level but informal plated service. In summer, the terrace makes a good spot to while away a leisurely afternoon away from it all.

Additional information for The Brasserie at The Tower
The Brasserie has 150 covers inside and approximately 80 outside on the garden terrace. Groups of up to 15 can dine a la carte. Any bigger and you can choose from the set menu. There's a small bar suited to a quick pre and post dinner drink, and a second hotel bar called Xi which has some equally impressive views directly over Tower Bridge. Priciest wine is £39 and if you'd like to spend more per bottle you'll be offered the full hotel wine list to peruse. A stone section of floor near the windows can be used as a dance floor. Full disabled access. Two entrances. Children welcome.

Overall The Brasserie at The Tower is not somewhere to go for an evening meal with a partner. Its clearly geared for hotel residents and it does this job well enough. Its view of Tower Bridge is amazing. Muscles were very over cooked and what there was of them we found most of the shells empty and no where to be found in the bad Provencale sauce. Linguini was not drained well so I had a pool of water in my bowl. Wine was nice once poored in a clean glass; 3 of 4 were dusty.
