Description of The Chancery
Fans of The Clerkenwell Dining Room will be pleased to learn that owners, Andrew Thompson and Zak Jones, have opened a second restaurant to rave reviews. A small corner site on Curistor Street, EC4 is now home to The Chancery, a super-chic space divided into two adjoining dining rooms. The Chancery tell us they aim to become one of the city's fine dining restaurants. Having only twelve tables, The Chancery has fast become a great venue for small intimate dinners as well as a fabulous romantic venue. Before settling down to a delicious dinner, have a cocktail or 2 in the intimate bar lounge area. In spite of Andrew Thompson's excellent pedigree, Andy now relies on the talents of his two head chefs Steven Gilchrist and Steve Carrs to provide an innovative menu which changes every couple of months.

Additional information for The Chancery
Having two elegant rooms side by side, tastefully separated by two archways, The Chancery lends itself ideally for private parties of up to fifty five guests allowing exclusive use of the entire restaurant and bar. Should you wish for something smaller and more intimate the rooms can simply be taken over allowing twenty five guests in each room thus creating a semi exclusive private dining room. Menus are available for groups, depending on how many guests, include a la carte, reduced a la carte and bespoke party menus.

visited The Chancery for lunch. Food was very good indeed. The only criticism was the poor service. The owner, Zak, is outstanding but all the other waiting staff are of poor standard. However, the food and drink made up for it

Tuesday early evening in January, so it wasn't busy at all. We were the first couple in and were only joined by others some time after 7pm, but atmosphere was pleasant enough. Cocktails were extremely limited - no cocktail menu available. Food was really good, with small dishes thrown in between the main ones for free. The veggie options were one starter and one main, so very limited choice. The wine list was not huge but good quality and with Meursault coming in at over £50, value was "O

The Chancery was divine. We went for a romantic birthday dinner mid-week and it was just lovely. I had the lamb and I swear it was the best thing I've ever had. My partner only rated it an 8 though, he chose badly. We had the cheapest bottle (actually 2) of wine at £16 and it was really nice which is unusual for a fairly expensive restaurant. We had the 3 courses for £25 toptable offer, making it exceptional value for money. Highly reccommend.

I booked The Chancery for a group lunch. Overall the food was excellent. The cost per person was about £30 and this included wine.

Lovely night at the Chancery, marred only by my wife's obsessional viewing of the semillion's buttocks. yes, they were nice buttocks, but it really wasn't fair to me. I wasn't impressed by the wine he produced if I'm honest too
