Description of The Green
The Green is possibly the most amiable of Clerkenwell Green's hang outs, most of which are highly styled bars. The compact gastropub-style wooden interior is matched with friendly staff, quality beers on tap, and happy European /English cooking. Lunch serves a modern offering of fresh fish and meat dishes, homemade pies and desserts, replaced by a popular tapas selection in the evenings. The ground floor bar gets especially busy in summer when the crowd spills out onto picnic benches on the pavement. Upstairs in the beautiful Victorian-style dining room is quieter. Here they serve the serve a larger menu of hearty sharing dishes, home cooked pies and fish stews. The Green is a good choice for relaxed lunches and after-work drinks.

Additional information for The Green
The Green's first floor is an unobtrusive setting for meetings, business lunches, private dining, even weddings. DJs keep the tempo lively until midnight on Fridays, saving a more chilled selection of tunes for Sunday evenings. Roasts are served from midday to 12pm on Sundays.

The Green Reviews

we were sitting in the pub downstars. The little snacks they offer are delicious and the price is compared to other pubs very good value for money! Enormous friendly staff even though it was a very busy and hectic evening for them. The only downside was that it was too full and due to that we had to wait quite a long time for our food.

We were lucky enough to dine on a bank holiday monday when they had a west country special menu that cost £10 a head for two courses. Cannot argue with that and as usual the food was divine!

The Green was a nice relaxed pub serving good quality pub food. Outside seating was a bonus on such a sunny day.

The Green's usually great, but this time the food wasn't as good as it usually is.
