Description of The Greenhouse
The British have been captivated by the charm of a greenhouse for over one hundred years, offering an enduring design concept that allowed a perfect balance between the interior and exterior. Tucked into a Mayfair Mew, The Greenhouse has been a favourite with locals and savvy Londoners for nearly twenty five years. You must try the potato-topped scallops on pepperonata, basil and capers or the roast rump of lamb on sweet potatoes and smoked aubergine. Short, well considered wine list. Lunch has a corporate crowd, dinner is more relaxed, both are busy.

Gorgeous, gorgeous food here at The Greenhouse, and great service. I took clients here on a Friday lunchtime and it was perfect. Not cheap but happy to pay for the quality.

Dinner at The Greenhouse was faultless. We each had the tasting menu - 7 or 8 micro dishes - each delectably perfect. Very knowledgable and friendly sommelier provided insightful recommendations. Friendly, professional and unpretentious service.

Not for the faint of wallet, but an excellent restaurant.

Good simple set menu. Fairly priced. Food beautifally executed. Very attentive staff but not intrusive. Spacious and comfortable.

Cold is the word that comes to mind...the restaurant itself was fairly soulless and it was cold. So much so that my wife ended up finishing her desert with her coat on. Food was good, great flavour. The Rump was tremendous but unfortunately our fish main course was served tepid (that's because it was steamed we were told, silly me, should have known!! Wine list is just ridculously enormous but, being that big you will find what you want in the end...Nice meal but overall have had better.

The Greenhouse on a saturday night provided faultless service and extremely friendly staff. We chose the tasting platter - every dish was excellent, particularly the amuse bouches! Our only complaint would be that the pigeon main course dish could not be substituted for something else for one person alone. Nevertheless with so many dishes to eat, this did not pose a real problem. Overall, recommended to family and friends- however do not be surpirised if you end up paying £100 per head!

The Greenhouse was absolutely divine. We had the tasting menus with wines by the glass suggested by the sommelier. Nothing was a problem for the staff, who were friendly and courteous. We were celebrating a birthday, so the expense was okay, but not something to do every weekend! The whole evening was wonderful.

The Greenhouse restaurant was a real gourmet experiece. We chose the vegetarian tasting menu which I would highly reccomend. A real variety of seasonal vegetables and artistic flair. Definately one of the best restaurants that I have been too.

The Greenhouse's staggering wine list could have kept us happily entertained for hours....but fortunately the delicious tasting menu meant we stopped reading! Twenty years on, still a fabulous venue and sensational food and service.

Dinner at the Greenhouse is certainly a wonderful experience. Outstanding service and a beautiful atmosphere. We took the tasting menu which was a fascinating 3 hour journey in itself. Towards the end of the evening my wife jokingly commented that the only thing missing was an A list celeb sighting at which point Sir Paul Mcartney sat down at the table next to us. Enough said!

The Greenhouse is an excellent choice for anyone who appreciates terrific french cuisine in wonderful setting (and doesn't mind paying for the privilege). The diver scallop starter was to die for!
