Description of The Grill Room at the Dorchester
toptable Dining Awards 2007 - Runner-up: Best Loos category

Following a stunning refurbishment The Grill at The Dorchester has now re-opened and is causing a stir throughout London. Aiden Byrne has been appointed as the new Head Chef of The Grill the youngest chef to ever be awarded a Michelin Star in Britain. Signature dishes include Roasted Cornish Scallops with white truffle & white chocolate risotto, Braised Chicken with potato mousse, truffle and Parmesan sabayon and Fillet of Turbot with braised snails, pearl barley and parsley sauce. The clinking of glasses, animated chatter and soft laughter complete the scene. The restaurant serves the 'Best of British' produce and Aiden has sourced new suppliers and produce to ensure The Grill offers guests the finest ingredients on his modern British menu. Flavours will be fresh, light and clean using ingredients such as microgreens from Richard Vine, cheese from La Fromagerie and a new breed of lamb from the Denham Estate.

The Grill at the Dorchester was great fo our business lunch. The two-course set menu was £25 meaning it was easily under the expense cap even with some wine and dessert off the main menu. The portions were small as you would expect for top rate food at that price but it was still enough for lunch. Perfect in fact. The atmosphere was a bit more refined than I expected-very fine dining rather than buzzy lunch venue but that was fine too. A nice treat.

Amazing food, even better service.

Lunch at the Dorchester was a fantastic experience, and offered top quality cuisine at very reasonable prices. There was plenty of choice on the 3 course set menu (which was great value at £27.50) and the chef offered us 2 further in-between courses for no extra cost! The service was brilliant, with each course being carefully described, and the staff couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. A truly memorable lunch for all the right reasons!

A Xmas treat at the Dorchester Grill for Christmas Eve dinner was a wonderfuul way to start the festivites. As always, the service was excellent. The Hotel has just been refurbishes and the Xmas decorations were delightful. Cocktails in the Bar were delightful. Dinner was divine. Downside, full payment for the dinner was required beforehand and although gave card number they wanted confiirmation on a form which could not be downloaded and had to be sent - so a ridiculous bit of bureaucracy.
