Description of The Landau
Located on Portland Place in London 's West End, The Landau is a sophisticated new establishment run by award-winning celebrity chef Andrew Turner. The restaurant's elegant dining room - with wooden floors, lilac and mint leather chairs and an abundance of fresh flowers - is an ideal setting to enjoy The Landau's signature grazing menu, which allows you to sample from five, six, seven or eight course grazing dishes. We love the belly of Gloucester Old Spot pork, honey glazed parsnips, pickled cabbage and star anise; the fillet of wild Scottish halibut served with Basquise, curried mussels, crushed potatoes and an apple and fennel salad; and the profiteroles served with lime ice cream, hot chocolate sauce and hazelnuts.

The Landau provided an impressive venue for an informal business lunch, with superb food and attentive service being enjoyed throughout. Thoroughly relaxing and excellent value through taking advantage of the fixed 3 course menu offering a great choice of quality dishes. Highly recommended!

The Landau is an impressive restaurant with a classical toned down Oriental feel. Service was unobtrusive. Food presentation was excellent.

Enjoyed the Landau, great toptable offer and obviously very popular with other toptablers. Chicken main course let them down but the other dishes were very good. Service seemed to be an off night but overall would be glad to go back.

Its not often that you get the same service on a top table offer at places such as the Landau as you do if you're dining a la carte but this place can not be faulted! They were fabulous, the food was divine (great menu) and the choice of wine outstanding. Will definately return.

I booked the Landau after looking for Christmas dinner deals and reading the excellent reviews here on toptable. Expectations were high and we were not disappointed as we had a wonderful experience. Food was of the highest quality and the waiters were friendly, knowledgable and lacking any pretentiousnes. I would highly recommend this restaurant although I would suggest booking when there is a deal because it isn't cheap.

The Landau is a great place to go for that special occasion, I took my husband for his 31st which was on xmas day; we went on xmas eve. Great service, food is wonderful and the place is beautiful. However, as it is expensive we would only go back on an offer or for my 32nd!

We dined fairly early so it was pretty quiet at the Landau, but the room itself is beautiful and as such doesn't necessarily need an added 'buzz'. Perfect for an intimate dinner, the three course menu was really good value and there were genuinely tempting choices for each course. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and I'd definitely recommend it for a special treat.

The Landau is an oasis of calm just off Oxford Street. We went for a long lunch pre-Xmas as a prelude to a West End show. Disappointed at first not to see the grazing menu available at lunch but the maitre d' heard our enquiry, chacked with the kitchen and voila seven course grazing arranged. Food was superb and service attentive without being OTT. Wine waiter provided interesting information on my own choice of wines and refused tip as service charge covered!! Water, coffee and tea pricey.

A really good evening all around at The Landau.. Upper-end ambience (without being vulgarly affluent), attentive and interested staff and fantastically presented and delicious food. The 3 course menu option gave a good variety of options, and when my dining partner was told the skate had run out, she was offered Seabass instead (which was excellent). The food is presented in an extremely entertaining veering-toward-Blumenthal manner, yet the portions are perfectly sized. Very impressed!

Dining at the Landau is an absolute pleasure from the moment you enter the building. Having had a superb meal a few weeks ago I hoped the experience would match that one, and to my delight it was. Some of the best staff and food in London. If you haven't tried it yet, you must go.

The Landau was excellent in every way. Particularly worthy of mention was the very knowledgeable sommelier. The 3 courses plus glass of champagne deal was great value and suited our purpose as we had to dine early. The adjacent hotel bar was also first class, with good service. It is refreshing to find a restaurant that still maintains such high standards. We probably would not have found this place if we had not browsed through the top Table choices, so we were pleased with our find.

A stunning central venue populated (but not obtrusively so) by attentive and knowledgeable staff. Excellent amuse- bouche and then a deep and penetratingly flavoured soup: the foie gras was delicate but sustained and the lamb main course perfectly pink and flavoursome. The poached pear was well-spiced and the creme brulee light but with enough body to satisfy. Imaginative petit-fours secs et glaces. Some excellent wines at not unreasonable prices. My second visit and certainly not my last

Spent a lovely evening at the Landau with a friend. Food was amazing and we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Service was excellent and the waiters were very friendly and helpful. I had the salmon, lamb and sticky toffee pudding - all of which were excellent and very well presented. We got a selection of amazing chocolates with our coffee which was a lovely touch. The only negative was that my friend said her food wasn't very hot. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing evening.

A great deal - 3 courses and glass of champagne for £35. Food was top quality, and we were treated as though we were paying full price - excellent service. Beautiful building too! All in all, a very nice experience.
