Description of The Library
No, you don't have to keep silent when dining at The Library. In fact there's hardly a book in sight, just white table linens, twinkling candles and gleaming cutlery. An English menu with international influences that specialises in seafood complements an impressive wine list (with a good selection of half bottles). Signature dishes include warm mixed salad of scallops, crayfish and crispy pancetta with pinenuts, bouillabaisse of monkfish, clams, scallops and red mullet and bitter chocolate and orange mousse. A great place of celebrations.

Additional information for The Library
With rooms that overlook Buckingham Palace Mews, decor redolent of the best of traditional luxury, fully-equipped meeting rooms, and dedicated on-site coordinators, Rubens at the Palace is a spectacular choice for parties, receptions and business meetings and events. Add to that the high quality of the cuisine and the many choices of menu, and you have a winner of a venue. Or if your party is smaller and you're looking for stylish English traditional cooking and surroundings, then The Library is also a winner of a choice for celebratory meals and warm, friendly gatherings. The Library is decorated with high ceilings, rich draperies, comfy armchairs, and vast floral arrangements, while the Old Masters restaurant is a traditional English carvery with all the sense of occasion that engenders. The signature Rubens seafood and pancetta salad, or grilled lobster in chive and champagne sauce are lighter choices that are excellent. Private rooms have been recently refurbished and also enjoy high ceilings and traditional decor with the added benefit of up-to-the-minute tv, video, pa, sound, and ISDN systems. The Van Dyke suite seats up to 60 and the Rembrandt and Jubilee suites each seat up to 44. Canape and buffet menus are available, too, and staff will attend to every detail so you can be the perfect host.
