The Spencer Arms was a lovely place to spend a few hours on a rainy Saturday afternoon with friends. Relaxed venue and decent food. Unfortunately the day we were there, our waitress had her boyfriend visiting, and she was more interested in talking to him than paying any attention to us.

The Spencer Arms is a fantastic local pub. Excellent food and cheery staff, although a little on the pricey side

very pricey for small portions of pub food, staff lovely, pub itself had a warm comfortable atmosphere

The Spencer Arms has a great atmosphere and great food. Pretty 'sloaney'. Table service was a bit slow but they were very busy as it was sunday lunch time.

The Spencer Arms. Being further out from the centre of Putney it was fairly quiet on a Thursday night but just about busy enough. The food was really great and the service friendly. Not cheap but impressive food - better than some of the nearby 'fancier' restaurants.

Lovely place to relax after a long walk along the river. Good for but overpriced for the size of the portions.

The Spencer Arms had a great selection on the menu. The food was great as was the service. My only complaint would be that it is a little pricey for a gastropub.

The Spencer Arms is a very nice gastro pub. It has a good atmosphere, comfy and stylish. Our party were sat at a round table - a little small for 5 especially with the aray of glasses and crockery they supplied however very condusive to a good chat. The ambience is welcoming and not too noisy for conversation. We all went for the stead and chips which although a bit pricey for a pub - gastro or otherwise - was of very good quality. Would go again but would be prepared for restaurant prices.

The Spencer Arms is trying hard, but falls uncomfortably in between pub and restaurant status. The food was well cooked and very tasty. But at restaurant prices we were left questioning why you have to pay extra for vegetables? The decor and feel remains true to being a pub, and so also made us question if the prices reflected this - you may as well go to a proper restaurant elsewhere in Putney. Overall, nice, but pricey preventing the Spencer Arms being a regular haunt.

My partner and I were after a lazy Sunday lunch, so after some research decided on The Spencer Arms. Did it live up to the hype? Well, I felt the prices were a little high for a gastro pub serving roast (£28 for a small chicken for 2?), but the relaxing atmosphere fit the bill and our beef was excellent with perfect potatoes. But I did feel slightly let down by the expectation that we should fork out for extra veg - at £14.50 for roast beef, it should have been on the plate in the first place.

The Spencer Arms is a cleverley & successfully converted gastro pub. The staff are very friendly & willing but lack training & organisation. The food borders on pretentious with helpings rather mean for the very full price they charge. Very ordinary NZ fizz at over £26 was bad value.

Took my parents to The Spencer Arms and we had a lovely meal. The menu was not as exciting as it usually is but it was simple food cooked very well. It is slightly an the expensive but given that the food was cooked perfectly we had nothing to complain about!

we had dinner at the spencer arms on a wednesday night. The choice was great and all the food was delicious but a bit over priced for what it was! The service started out great but died toward the end. Overall ok but wouldn't rush back.

Very quiet when we went sadly but perhaps weekday lunchtimes are always quiet. If it isn't busier at the weekend or on evenings, it certainly should be! The food was terrific and the portions more than filling. Will definitely be going back in the very near future...
