The Stonhouse Reviews

The Stonhouse is a great venue for getting together with friends for a relaxed meal. Good wines and reasonable beers and a surprisingly low bill at the end of the night.

The Stonhouse was perfect for a rainy Sunday lunch.

We had a great evening, especially enjoyed the more unusual main courses on the menu like osterich & springbok.

I brought my husband to the Stonhouse for his birthday and was pleasantly surprised. Initially, we were given a table by the door, but were moved right beside the fireplace when we asked for somewhere a bit warmer. Food and service were excellent and we were even given a free banoffee pie shooter at the end of the evening. A great place to go if you are in the mood for a romantic evening for 2 or a place to chat with friends as it wasn't too noisy even though the pub was absolutely full.

perfectly adequate for a neighbourhood restaurant-especially on a Christmas eve when the staffing levels may have been lower.
However a little misleading to see 2 prices for a Salad Nicoise
indicating a starter or main course portion. In fact turned out to be with or without tuna an essential ingredient for a salad nicoise and made teh lower price unreasonable for a mixed
salad!

Stonhouse is a hidden gem with tasty food and good service. Unlike in some other similar venues in the area we weren't rushed through our meal but were given plenty of time to enjoy the food and were there until closing.

Good food and good value. Drank wine all evening and the bill was very acceptable. Very good all in all!

12 of us went to the Stonhouse for a birthday meal. Food and service were both excellent. Restaurant was busy and vibrant but not over-packed like some others on the nearby high street. We would definately return.
