Description of The White Swan
If you don't believe in fairytales, perhaps a visit to The White Swan will change your mind. Tom and Ed Martin, the brothers who run the Swan's popular sister pub, The Well, have applied their magic to transform the former Mucky Duck into a charismatic gastropub. The groundfloor houses a beautifully restored pub packed with local bankers, lawyers and advertising execs, above which is a mezzanine area (first choice of many an office party). The first floor meanwhile is an oak-floored, mirrored ceiling restaurant serving tasty British food along the likes of steak and kidney suet pudding, and blood orange marmalade sponge pudding with custard. The wine menu lists an impressive 150 bottles from around the world. If you're up for a change from London Pride and Greene King IPA, try one of the two monthly-changing guest ales.

Additional information for The White Swan
The Pub Mezzanine area can be reserved for drinks and canapé parties for up to 20 people. On the weekend the entire venue can be hired exclusively for private dining or for private parties until 3am. There are decks, so you can bring your own DJ. The stylish Dining Room can be hired exclusively for groups of up to 48 people, including breakfast meetings (two courses = £20). Limited business facilities are available.

The White Swan Reviews

The White Swan was a great pub, a good place for a pint and snacks. Especially the mezzanine floor. We had dinner in the restaurant upstairs but were gutted when we couldn't order off the bar menu which had some cracking dishes on it. Also none of the wines tied up with the vintage on the menu, so they should just get rid of them! Great place though and would go back but would wrestle for a table downstairs rather than in the restaurant

Visited the White Swan with colleagues for lunch. Excellent service and good food. I can highly recommend the burger.

Eight of us ate at the White Swan last Friday night - 12 Dec - great venue & really delicious food BUT just so irritating to find an extra £70 or so mistakenly on the bill and constant attempts to add extras throughout the night eg 4 attempts to get us to drink bottled water. Go for the place and food but watch the bill!

Excellent choice for a client lunch :)

The White Swan's dining room is dark and elegant. The service was very good and some of the best I've had in London. The food was good and simplly prepared with local ingredientst. The prices were a little high and even thought the food was good, it was a bit over priced. The wine was very over priced, over 3 times marked up from retail price.
Overall I would recommend The White Swan for a special meal. For a better value meal I would eat downstairs in the main pub.

I booked a birthday dinner with friends here. Nadia the events Manager was extremely helpful when I needed to amend a few details of my booking and when she found out it was my birthday she organised a free glass of champagne for my arrival. Really good communication from her. Our waiter for the evening, James, looked after us superbly with a smile on his face and was knowledgeable and courteous the whole time. The food from start to finish was delicious, I'd recommend the pork belly main!

I've worked near the White Swan for years but never visited, however I will be back, nice food and relaxing atmosphere in the city.

The White Swan is a pleasant venue to have a business lunch. The food is value for money and would recommend the Fig & Almond pie. We would definately return maybe try the evening.

I went to the White Swan for a business lunch. Its a gastropub frequented by all the neighbouring law firms and with good reason. It has excellent food and a good reasonably priced wine-list. I had a warm leek and potato soup with truffled cream and an excellent piece of roasted trout. I did find the service to be clumsy and overzealous. They interrupted 4 times to ask if we wanted to order when we were clearly in discussion and had only had the menu a couple of minutes. The waitress was clumsy

The food and service was as usual at a very high standard. The staff are friendly but nor intrusive.

The menu is limited to 6 or 7 dishes per course but the choice is excellent.

This was not my first and will not be my last visit.

Midweek lunch requires a booking.

It's a shame you can't book the bar, because the fish and chips are fantastic. Food in the dining room is very good if a little pricey.

Extremely pleasant intimate restaurant. The service was impeccable, unobtrusive yet very helpful. Try the English bubbly - all the food was well presented, bounding with flavour.

We popped into the White Swan for a good after work drinks event. A nice place for a small going away gathering and the food was pretty darn good too. Definitely will poke our heads back in when we are back in the area.

The White Swan has a cosy and still elegant dining area upstairs. The food choices on the changing menu were excellent. Great for a business lunch.

Went to the White Swan with some colleagues for lunch. Fabulous food, delicately flavoured soup and guinea fowl perfectly cooked. Service impeccable. Highly recommended.

The staff at the White Swan were very attentive and the food good, but on a Friday night there were only two other tables, which meant little buzz - still meant it was quiet enough to have a very relaxed evening.
