Description of Troia Bar and Restaurant
This smart glass-fronted cafĂ©, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. Offering a set meal for £16.50, it's certainly the cheaper of the three. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

Troia Bar and Restaurant Reviews

Me and my boyfriend visting Troia Bar and Restaurant before rushing off to the IMAX cinema. We were late to our table and after apologising, explained that we were now in a rush. The service was excellent and the food was promptly brought up. The meze starter was good and I had chicken wings for my main. It was a nice restaurant just wish we had longer to enjoy it. Probably would return.

We booked Troia for a birthday meal for 10 people and it was perfect for the occasion. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was quick but not rushed. They were great when there was a mix-up over the wine and painlessly sorted it out. Our food was delicious and good sized portions. Troia is hidden away behind County Hall but well worth seeking out.

The Troia Bar and Restaurant was excellent. I took my mother to the restaurant, it was the first time she had eaten a turkish meal, she enjoyed it so much she wants to go again!

First class, we will return.

Troia Bar and Restaurant - We had the mezze for 10 people. Food was very tasty and great value. Service was good. Ambience is uninspiring, as is the location - although conveniently close to Waterloo and the Eye.

The menu at Troia is varied and gives plenty of choice. The food was tasty and the service efficient without feeling hurried. The only let-down (literally) was the chairs - which are pretty small!

Troia: We had the "London" Meze, which was absolutely delicious and extremely good value for money, supported by a very acceptable Turkish wine. The stuffed apricot dessert was truly memorable. Strongly recommended!

My friend and I had a great meal at Troia. The food is tasty, the restaurant is tastefully decorated and the lighting and music are just right. I have been to Troia a number of times and usually the waiters are extremely friendly and attentive, but our waiter last night wasn't as good as normal. The Sheisha here is also good!

This was the first time my friends and I had dined here and certainly won't be the last. Food and ambience were better than other well known Turkish retaurants. Nice to find an independent among the myriad of chain eateries.

Troia is a great find and always welcoming. The food is fresh and tasty, and its usefully placed for the south bank and waterloo - I've never been disappointed.
