Description of Vanilla
Drama queens will fall in love with this super-chic little gem in Fitzrovia. From behind your delicately draped table you can sit and sip your champagne cocktail while you admire the theatrical white interior and peruse the sensational menu. With a smooth white resin floor, crystal chandeliers and damask print mirrors, Vanilla has become the hotspot for London's fashionistas-who-lunch. The modern European menu is more traditional than the décor, and features favourites such as seared Shetland scallops with cauliflower puree, pancetta lardons and pea shoot salad, and organic salmon with warm potato salad, pine nuts and herb dressing. The lunch menu changes weekly, and a divine degustation menu, complete with complementary wines, is available in the evenings.

Vanilla Reviews

I hired Vanilla for a private event for 70 people, which went extremely well. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. They contributed to the smooth running of the event without a doubt. The food was fantastic as well. I had bowl food of Codd and creamy mash (lush), Duck (divine) and xmas turkey option. The bite sized dessert options were gorgeous. The bar area where we held our event is funky and sophisticated. Everyone had a fantastic time. Can't rave enough about the venue.

Vanilla was excellent value for money at £18.50 for 3 courses. The food was exquisite although portions were on the very small side. Funky surroundings and lovely staff, would return with no hesitation.

Really extraordinary. I cannot recommend Vanilla highly enough. This is the best of the best and people just don't seem to know about it yet. The presentation, the service, and of course the food itself is very special indeed.

Vanilla was a great way to sample a variety of interesting and, at times, unusual cuisine. We had the six course menu with the wine, and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Stylish yet relaxed ambiance, and friendly staff. Would certainly recommend it as an experience for a special occasion.

Not knowing what to expect here - the food at Vanilla was outstanding. Service was fabulous too as the waiters explained every part of our 6 course taster menu with very well chosen wine pairing. The Scallops and 64 Degree Egg were superb. Wasn't very keen on the Sweetcorn based dessert. With a very decadent restaurant design and opulent bar - Vanilla makes for a perfect evening out.

Amazing ambience, excellently decorated. The food was good but the portions were very small and some unusual combinations of food: salt and creme brule i don't think go well together.

Non-the-less definately worth a visit and a great place if you want to impress a date.....

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading terrible reviews about Vanilla from other websites and then glowing ones on Toptable.
The bar area being all white in colour is certainly different but perhaps tries a little too hard. Saying that the staff couldn't be more helpful and the cocktails were great. The 40GBP tasting menu was good value for money, but included odd combinations such as potatoes dipped in edible clay. The food was good but now i've been there once I'm not sure i would return.

We didn't know that Vanilla was a tasting menu-only restaurant but that's okay because it was great! We went for the 6 course non-vegetarian with matching wines for each course. The anticipation of each dish was part of the mystique and fun of the evening - I won't describe each dish for you because that would take away from your experience. Although I have to say that the Sichuan Button that is on one of your dishes will be the most amazing taste sensation you have ever had!
