Description of Volupte
Volupte's the place for you if the seriously sultry and decadence world of burlesque and cabaret floats your boat. Tucked away in the backstreets of Chancery Lane and harking back to the days of Vaudeville extravaganzas, Volupte is a world of pleasure and exquisite delight, where anything goes. Upstairs in the dimly lit masculine-edged cocktail bar, you can watch old movie clips. Or vamp it up downstairs in the cabaret salon/restaurant where a series of cutaway, hand-painted booths sets the scene for a Supper Club style dining where you can adjust your own music and dim your own lights. Indulge in fine teas, delicious cakes and teatime treats, mouth-watering cocktails and be entertained by jazz bands, rock bands, musicians and cabaret singers, 1920s flapper dancers, comedy, Burlesque and Vaudeville extravaganzas - everything from cheesecake to Victorian gothica. It's sexy, it's indulgent and it's yours for the taking.

Volupte was a lovely, fun-filled, cheeky evening. we went to celebrate a birthday and were well lookded after. the show was great fun - would have like more of it! the meal was very tasty altho it was a bit dark to see what we were eating and house wine was fine and very reasonably priced. can't wait to go again!

The live music and the 2 for 1 cocktails were great! The service and food was mediocre at best. The bartender was rude and the waitress seemed a bit sure. The vibe and the atmosphere was great but I'm glad I got 50% off at the end of the day!

What a superb birthday party; great food atmosphere and drinks! One of the best birthday so far! So much fun! Thanks Volupte! (only down side: it has been very hard to book, Volupte was not getting back in touch with me!)

Volupte is an immersive venue with high quality food and drink, non-intrusive though attentive service and top class entertainment. It has an upstairs bar serving a wide range of great cocktails, and a downstairs venue offering all manor of entertainment from burlesque dancers, the house bands jazz renditions, live music and a DJ. Highly recommended for a party or a date.

Volupte was a real experience! I have never been to a burlesque club before and it was just great, and really different. The staff emailed me beforehand to answer my questions on dress code. On entering the bar we were greeted by friendly staff and a really bouncy excitable barman. All the staff seem to love their jobs there! The show was great and there was even a magician and portrait artist circulating. A really cosy venue where you feel welcomed and at home and really part of the show!

Volupte was great. The way the whole place is set up contributes to the friendly atmosphere in the bar and restaurant, and the dancing later on was great fun too.

The entertainment is so different we were a bit non-plussed for some of it, but it is what we expected and enjoyed it very much.
Would heartily recommend this place to someone who wants something different!

I was really looking forward to eating at Volupte after reading all the positive reviews. The ambience was dead and the food was aweful - it was either fried or the meal came out cold. The only enjoyable aspect was the service and 50% off total bill.

Volupte was slightly disappointing - mostly the show. Bright lights, brash and very in-your-face removed any possibility of it being sultry and sexy. One artist sang twice - all the rest was dancing only and compere was appalling. Still a fun night out for a group of girls but would I go again - not sure. A pity as the idea is fab, the food surprisingly good, just felt there is a bit of a lost opprtunity for the experience to match the fabulous website.

Volupte was a great dinner out for our work team. the food was delicious and the atmosphere is great. We attended 'love club' and it just involved some good tunes and a good buzz. highly recommended.

Afternoon Tease at Volupte is fun to go to with the girls; lots of Hen celebrations and very few couples makes it a little one sided in the mix of crowd. Fun venue, but if you're one of the few men there, you will be targetted by dancers

Had an excellent evening with my boyfriend at Volupte. Most highly recommended and will definitely be back. I worked round the corner for years and never realised it was there, a great find thanks to Top Table.

I was expecting Volupte to be a parlour of understated salaciousness. However, I was disappointed to find it was more of an upper class den of iniquity! Once I got over my initial disappointment, we had a fab evening of fun, food and frolics. My fiancé says their fillet is one of the best in London.

The ambience was amazing all lit by candlelight, very relaxed and good music (although some might find it a bit dark). The service at Volupte was excellent, the food was delicious and with 50% off it was really good value too.

The atmosphere at Volupte was great (very relaxed and intimate, live band playing), and the food didn't disappoint: the portions were generous, and the chocolate dessert was really melty.

My friend and I went to Volupte last night and we were blown away with the vibe of the place. We were lucky to see a live jazz band who were great and very entertaining. It was good value for 3 courses for £15 but of course what adds up is the alcohol consumption, next time we will hold off on too many cocktails before dinner. It is definitely a kind of place I would go again and I want to see the Burlesque dancers perform next time.
