Description of Weng Wah House
The recently-refurbished Weng Wah House has been a hit with locals for some time now, with its gigantic menu of traditional Chinese dishes balanced by lightly Westernised offerings that use more adventurous ingredients like mussels and asparagus. The place is largish, and a good thing, too, considering what the queues would be like if it weren't. There is a tremendously good value set menu at lunch and dinner, and the menu's 'signature dishes' change every month. Try the Yin-Yang Dover sole, cooked two ways, or the chicken fillets with asoaragus in spicy xo-sauce, or the veggie feast, if you're so inclined. There are karaoke nights in the upstairs dining room hosted by Vincent 'Elvis' Phung singing those timeless hits 'Jailhouse Wok' and 'Shake Rattle and Spring Roll'. The service is spiffy and the wine list very good.

Additional information for Weng Wah House
This place is always packed - book well in advance to avoid disappointment. The karaoke party level can accomodate up to eighty diners and their set menus make this a great value night out. Perfect for birthdays, hen nights and celebrations. If you don't fancy karaoke you can dine in the restaurant downstairs and enjoy traditional Chinese dishes away from the mayhem.

Weng Wah House Reviews

Weng Wah, hadn't been for a while, ordered lobster as a second course, whilst eating, the main course was produced, asked for it to be taken back, which seemed to put out the waitress, when it finally came out, appeared and tasted like it was left on the side and reheated, roast duck was extremely salty. Disappointed this time around, but would return as hopefully this was just an off night for them, ususaly have a very good meal here.

Since moving to the area I think I've eaten here 4 times in the last month! The duck is sooo good and it's pretty hard to fault anything else. Definitely recommend!

Booked a table at Weng Wah for 6 people. The ambience was fantastic and the food well served and arrived on time. The ribs, in my opinion, were certainly the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, on that evening, a bad accident involving a motorbike and a car occured outside the restaurant, but the stunning food and the excellent customer services more than made up for it. A class act well done! Highly recommended.

Have been before but last night the waiter took the order wrong and was very slow but it was Bank Holiday so maybe they were short on staff. It was very slow.

Food was very good. However, staff was not friendly at all. Toilets were under refurbishment. Won't go back.

Weng Wah house is a small and popular chinese restauraunt in Hampstead. I dediced to book through topable to see what all the fuss was about. When we arrived we were left waiting in the small cramped cloakroom for 10 minutes before someone came to see us. They overbooked and so we had to wait 45 minutues.
The food was excellent and the service average. I loved the whole lobster and noodle special though I did find the crispy aromatic duck to be a little watery. All in all a decent place.

Food is authentic and very healthy. The dim sum menu is fantastic and modestly priced. Although not a stunning venue, the ambience is comfortable which makes it perfect for any kind of dinner be it business or pleasure.

Great food, cheap and delicious.

Weng Wah House never disappoints. Service here is far friendlier than in Chinatown where cold, indifferent servers prevail. The food is significantly better, too. A more relaxed atmosphere as well. For my money, this is one of the best -- if not THE best -- Chinese restaurants in London.

I was a bit apprehensive after reading other reviews of this restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised. The food and service we recieved waqs brilliant. The only thing that let the restaurant down was the atmosphere, or rather, the lack of it.

Weng Wah restaurant was better than I expected. Nice quiet atmosphere, perfect table service and a good selection for a Chinese restaurant.

I'm lucky. Weng Wah House is in my neighbourhood. I consider it to be the best Chinese restaurant in London. Great food, great selection, and -- something extraordinary for a Chinese restaurant -- great service with pleasant wait-staff and a delightful manager. The prices are very reasonable. Dinner at Weng Wah House makes a very, very nice evening.

The food was good quality, the service was great and they were very helpful getting high-chairs, hot water etc for our baby. We would def go back.

Weng Wah house is just an average restaurant where the food is just o.k. and one of their staff told me to go opposite site of the road if i need a toilet?!?Chinese humour?!?Hope so!Don't order soft shell crab as my one was quite dissapointing!

The food at Weng Wah House was good, but nothing special. However, the shabby interior and lack of atmosphere means we are unlikely to return anytime soon.

We had an excellent time at the Weng Wah House restaurant on Saturday. We were a large group, 15 in total, however the service and welcome we received was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend the venue to others.

was disappointed by the service, we had a few friends turn up late and the waiters were snappy and short to us. could have left the main meal food on the table a little longer so we could nibble on. Overall had a good time with friends and it was nice to sing kareoke, which made the evening!
