Description of Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House
Borough Market has increasingly become London's favourite foodie haven. And after filling your Cath Kidston shopping basket with artisan loaves and seasonal leeks you'll probably need some refreshment. Wright Brothers couldn't be further away from the greasy spoons usually associated with markets. This Oyster and Porter House grew out of a company supplying wholesale oysters so rest assured they really know their stuff. Sitting on barrels outdoors or on a high stool inside the classically decorated dining room you'll be able to enjoy, not only the buzz and bustle of the market atmosphere, but truly amazing seafood freshly shucked in front of you. It's not only the oysters which will impress - daily specials from scallops to grilled prawns are consistently brilliant.

Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House Reviews

Wright brother's was an excellent experience, good food and buzzt atmosphere. Got a bench overlooking the kitchen which was good. Could have done without the 3 calls from the restaurant to confirm the booking though.

Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House is perfect for seafood lovers (especially if you are into oysters). We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was a nice atmosphere especially when as it was chucking it down outside.

Wrights Bros very rarely lets us down, which is why we've been there several times for get togethers. We ordered the native Colchesters to share and my sister went for the potted shrimp and dressed crab which was sweet, fresh and well seasoned. I went for the special (baked scallops) whilst the boyfriend went for the moules - all served as they should be, with friendly service, a buzzy atmosphere, and a great location, I recommend this place for a catch up with long lost friends.

The setting was warm and there was a real buzz around the place including the friendly and attentive staff.
There was a diverse selection of oysters- which were incredibly fresh. Then onto beef, guinness andoyster pie which was delightful- I don't say that lightly!
Beyond my selections was a varied menu including interesting specials.
The wine list was very good if a fraction limited. It made up for it by having a good selection of ales.
A fantastic night. In 3 words- elegant, refined and sexy!

Interesting restuarant with helpful staff. Food quality good but there are better restaurants in the price range

Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House had a good cosy atmosphere. The food was very good and interesting. especially the beef, Guinness and oyster pie. The staff were helpful and patient. Highly recommend it but worth booking as it's popular even on weekdays.

Wright Bros has a fun, buzzy atmosphere in the heart of bustling Borough Market. The sea bass main was one of the best that I have had all year. The menu is limited, but you sense that what is on offer is of top quality. Wine list was fine, though felt a little pricey. Overall however, a great spot for lunch and I will return!

Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House. Excellent quality food and service (ran like clockwork during a very busy Saturday lunchtime). We'd never really seen what all the fuss was about oysters until we had them there! For starters the Petit Fruits de Mer couldn't have been fresher. For main course the Beef and Guinness with Oyster Pie was superb. Sitting on bar stools while eating from a counter added to the fun of the day. The only negative was the high price of the wine.

Unique place. Fresh seafood is all delicious but seating is all on stools and not that comfortable. Nice atmosphere though and definitely worth a visit.

Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House has a more relaxed atmosphere than some other seafood restaurants. Great food too.

After having tried a sample dish from Wright Brothers at Taste of Christmas we thought the food was very tasty so booked a table for the following weekend. We weren't disappointed, the food was gorgeous - especially the salmon and haddock pie - and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be going back and recommending this restaurant to friends.

Wright Brothers Oyster and Porter House Iis handy for the Borough market and does oysters and seafood really well. The wine was good, though a bit pricey, and the service excellent and friendly even though it was a very busy on a Friday near Christmas. The ambience was relaxed though tended to be noisy. The only thing which was poor was the steak in the steak, ale and oyster pie which was undercooked and chewy. Other members of the party liked the fish pie and the deep fried squid. I'd return.
